ALL AYPO REHEARSALS ARE CANCELED for Monday, October 29. It is AYPO policy that when Fairfax County Public Schools are closed due to snow or other weather conditions, rehearsals will not be held. The AYP Dress Rehearsal, originally scheduled to take place at NVCC Schlesinger, is also canceled for Monday. AYP musicians should stay tuned for details about re-scheduling the dress rehearsal. See below for details about all upcoming rehearsals.

AYP Musicians:

There are space issues at Langley High School causing AYP rehearsals with Mr. Spalding to take place at Longfellow Middle School five more times this season at the regular time 7:00-9:30 p.m. Please mark your calendars:

NOTE: this does NOT affect AYSE musicians. AYSE rehearsals with Mrs. Cahn remain as scheduled at Langley HS in hertzler hall (see: Season Schedule).

Support your child and learn more about becoming a member [Details]

The AYPO Booster Club is a parent-run group formed for the purpose of providing social interaction for parents and musicians, supporting AYPO staff by volunteering as needed, and helping with fundraising activities. We hope that you will support the AYPO Booster Club! There are many ways to volunteer for the AYPO Booster Club. Specific opportunities will be shared via the AYPO website and will be noted on the Friday emails. Many volunteer opportunities will be coordinated through the SignUpGenius website. [Details]

Volunteers Needed for Concert! 

Volunteers are needed for the upcoming "Meet the Orchestra" concert on Sunday, November 4. Volunteers can be parents from any of the four orchestras as well as siblings/friends (at least 14 years old). It is best to avoid having Philharmonic parents volunteer for certain positions since their children will be performing. The concert is free for ages 18 & under so be sure to spread the word! Here are some details about the volunteer duties:

Sunday, November 4, 3:00 p.m. | Schlesinger
  • Photography of AYP during sound check (1:15-2:15 p.m.)
  • Merchandise Sales before concert (2:00-3:00p.m.) and during intermission
  • Ticket Sales before and during concert (2:00-3:30 p.m.)
  • Ticket Collection at auditorium entrances before and during concert (2:15-3:30p.m.)
