Opening night this Thursday!
Thursday Night Lights kick off for 2013
After what seemed like one of Minnesota's longest winters, Thursday Night Lights returns this Thursday, May 23! Every Thursday night the Velodrome will host some of the most intense racing along with family fun games. We will be selling our new Twin Six t-shirts and the Track Shack will have a variety of hot food and cool treats.

Get involved!
We're looking for volunteers

Volunteers are the driving force behind the successful operation of the track. We have had some great help over the years and we are asking for your help again. We need of a few people to help run our race programs. Specifically, we need people to help with our "Spectator Experience" and our concessions sales.

We are also looking for 10-12 people to help paint the track apron this Saturday from 12 noon-5 p.m.  We will supply rollers, tape and paint. You provide the elbow grease and artistic flair!

If you are interested in being involved more closely with the velodrome and its programs please contact Bob Williams at bwilliams@nscsports.org or 763.785.5614.

Muscle Milk Miss 'n Out
If you miss, you're out!

In the opening night one of the featured races will be the Muscle Milk Miss 'n Out. It will be a 7-race series this year stretching though the summer's Thursday Night Lights series. The Muscle Milk Miss 'n Out has Cat 3 riders battle it out until only a few remain. Check out all the dates for the Muscle Milk Miss 'n Out and keep track of results here!

Racing 101- Muscle Milk Miss 'n Out

The Muscle Milk Miss 'n Out is an elimination race. The last rider to cross the finish line on the designated lap (usually every other lap) is out of the race. This pattern continues until there are a few, usually three, riders left and then it is an all out sprint for first place. Until the final sprint the real racing happens in the back of the pack. While the riders at the front stay at a safe steady pace, those behind battle to not finish last on the designated lap. This race favors those riders with a lot of nerve and track skill.
