Real Estate License Renewal

Licenses expire May 31 of every even-numbered year. The Commission mails renewal notices two to three months prior to the license expiration date. Notices are mailed to the most recent employer address that was reported to the Commission. The Postal Service does not forward licenses. Click here for the license search website.

The Real Estate Commission requires real estate brokers and salespersons to complete 14 hours of Commission-approved continuing education during each two-year license period. If you were licensed before December 1, 2011 you may take any elective continuing education you would like. You must complete 14 hours.

The Commission has developed 14 required hours of mandatory continuing education course content for all licensees in their first renewal cycle. This provision affects anyone licensed on or after December 1, 2011. The mandatory courses must be completed by May 31, 2014.
