That's right.  A licensed salesperson in one state referred her buyer client to a buyer agent in another and she received both a referral fee and a lawsuit! Worse than that, the buyer she referred was her son to whom she gave every cent of that referral fee.  This article explores why she was brought into the suit and what she could have done to avoid it.

What is a Qualified Mortgage (QM) and why is it important?  There are many reasons.  January 2014 has promised to produce significant change in the mortgage and real estate industry and we want you to be ready and in the know!  The more you understand, the better equipped you will be to educate your clients.  The initial changes take effect starting January 14-18.  There are more that will be in effect by August 1, 2015.  These rules will institute new minimum underwriting standards for most mortgages.

This workshop will be packed with lots of info.  Such as: The ability to repay (ATR). We will discuss the 8 pieces of underwriting criteria that lenders will be will be required to perform on each borrower(s). What is a "High Cost Loan" If a loan is considered a High Cost loan then the borrower(s) will need to attend Homeownership counseling.  We will discuss how and why. New appraisal delivery requirements. The new Flip rules. Second appraisals may be required. Just to name a few.

Affiliate Committee

Open to Affiliate Members Only. The mission of the Affiliate Committee is to develop ideas and organize programs and activities to provide mutually beneficial opportunities between Affiliate and REALTOR® members.  Committee activities include:  Bucks Break Business Card Exchanges and Ask the Experts Seminars.

Diversity Committee

The mission of the Diversity Committee is to promote and support equal opportunity and cultural diversity among members and consumers through activities and education.

Reach Out Committee

The Reach Out Committee supports non-profit, charitable organizations with a housing and shelter-related focus, which enrich the quality of life and support the human need of the Bucks County Community. This is done through charitable events throughout the year, but especially during REALTOR® Reach Out month in October.

REALTORS® Political Action Committee

The REALTORS® Political Action Committee (RPAC) is charged with the responsibility of promoting and striving for the improvement of government by encouraging REALTORS® and others to take a more active and effective part in governmental affairs and to understand the nature and actions of their government.  This committee is also responsible for supporting candidates for election to national, state and local legislative and executive offices and raising the funds necessary to do so.
