Our Personal

Assessment Tools

We offer a family of personal assessment tools that provides information as to how a person makes decisions: about people, the work they do and the concepts of their future. They also identify areas of strength (maximizers) and potential vulnerabilities (minimizers).

By understanding the way in which we think, it becomes possible to leverage that knowledge to make better decisions, maximize our strengths, minimize our weaknesses, and achieve greater success in whatever we do. When we gain this understanding for another person in an organizational setting, it increases understanding, allows for better utilization of skills and alignment of work, increases management efficiency and effectiveness, and in general can impact the organization's overall health and performance.

Hi

Attitude ... it's the foundation of success in business, relationships and life

Let's face it, nobody wants to hang out with people who have a bad attitude. Unfortunately, people often think that attitude is something we can't change. So, this month's newsletter is all about attitude adjustment.

Some of you may be too young to remember or have even heard a great song from the 1940's entitled "Ac-Cent-Tchu-Ate the Positive". To enjoy a less than two minute YouTube rendition of the song by Bette Midler and the late Bing Crosby, click here.

Thanks for reading and good luck with your attitude adjustment.

Success: It's All About Attitude!

successWhen you really think about it, how true is this famous quote: "Your attitude today determines your success tomorrow"? The most valuable asset you can possess is a positive attitude. Your attitude determines the success you achieve in all aspects of your life. It is one of the first things people notice about you, and it impacts all aspects of your business and personal relationships. And a positive attitude is not a product of heredity; it's all a matter of choice.

If your attitude is less than positive, then you here are some tips to help you with an "attitude tune-up."

1. Understand the Power of Your Attitude.

Our attitude is one the most powerful tools we have for creating success in life. Attitude impacts everything we do, the way we think, the way we behave and our level of motivation. To turn your attitude around and make progress toward your goals, you must consistently fight negative or pessimistic thinking. Surround yourself with positive things and people, and keep your focus on your goals.

2. Make the Choice: Be in Command of Your Mind and Your Attitude.

Taking full responsibility for your thinking by monitoring your thoughts is the first step toward taking control of your attitude. The power of choice is very influential in our lives. In order for you to be successful, you must first choose to be successful. While working your way toward your goals, you will, undoubtedly, encounter some hurdles; you'll likely experience some failures; but it is important that you control how you respond to whatever happens. Keep your attitude positive even in the face of adversity.

So, which will you choose? A positive or a negative attitude? It may seem like a no-brainer, to be an easy choice, but it can be a real challenge to actually stick with this choice when setbacks occur. So, "program" your attitude - train yourself to be positive, maintain a positive inner dialogue, and keep your focus on your long term goals.

3. Identify and Stop Negative Attitudes that Hold You Back.

Assess your current attitude and identify thinking that's holding you back from whatever you want to achieve. Focus on the underlying sources of your negative thinking. What attitudes do you need to propel yourself towards success? Rid yourself of debilitating attitudes and focus on the positive attributes which will help you attain your optimum potential in all areas of your life.

4. Turn Your Attitude into Action and Find Your Purpose and Passion.

Once you've identified what's holding you back, you're ready to take on the next step. Look ahead and analyze where you want your life to go, what you want to achieve. To be successful, you must understand the importance of living your life with purpose and passion. Successful people have a personal vision of what they want in life. If you do not have a vision, you have nothing to work towards, and staying motivated can be hard. Once you've clarified your vision, you can define the goals you need in order to take action toward that vision.

5. Develop Strategies for Maintaining the Right Attitude.

Success in life and business is dependent on maintaining the right attitude, regardless of any setbacks you may face. So, prepare yourself for handling challenging situations that may threaten to provoke negative attitudes that will throw you off course. Utilize proven self-motivation techniques to help you maintain the right attitude towards your goals; namely affirmations, visualization, positive self talk, enthusiasm etc. By using these tools, you will be well prepared to achieve professional and personal success. It is also important to build supportive relationships that will get you through challenging times.

Admittedly, it's not always easy but by following these steps, you can make great progress toward maintaining the positive attitudes that can transform your life.

Maintaining a Positive Attitude: It's Good for Business (and Life)

accept-challengesHere are six ways to build a positive attitude:

  1. Be Committed.
  2. It took me a couple of years to reach the point I've reached now.  I could have given up many times and I had a million different reasons for doing so. But I knew what I wanted and stuck it out. That's the first key to success.

  3. Accept Challenges.
  4. No matter what you do, life is full of challenges.  When challenges arise, we have two choices, we can rise to the occasion or we can curl up and withdraw.

  5. Be in Control.
  6. Keep your mind focused on what's important. Set goals and priorities for what you want to do and accomplish. Develop a strategy for dealing with potential problems and when those problems surface, feel confident in your ability to handle them. The worst you can do is fail and in every failure, there is lesson to be learned.  We just have to be open to that lesson.

  7. Don't Be Too Critical.
  8. One of man-kind's biggest challenges is self-criticism. There is no use criticizing yourself once you've made a mistake. Saying "I should have landed that account or handled that situation differently" is not going to make any difference. It's just going to drain you of your energy and discourage you. Simply learn from your mistakes and move on.

  9. Practice Makes Perfect.

Many people say they learn best by doing. So get out there and start doing, consider it practice. It can be with friends or relatives, or anyone in your pipeline. Just take action and keep trying.

  10. Ask for Help.
  11. There is nothing wrong with asking for help. Don't think you're incompetent simply because you can't do it all. Professionals often hire other professionals to do the job properly. Don't be afraid to bring in a specialist when you need one.

And don't forget work-life balance. Remember the saying, "No one ever died wishing they had spent more time at the office."
