BPCC and LED Announce a New Advanced Manufacturing Program
 
Bossier Parish Community College is proud to announce a new program: Advanced Manufacturing and Mechatronics as part of its Division of Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. This program is in concert with the Louisiana Economic Development (LED) FastStart program, Certification 4 Manufacturing, or C4M. This program will help interested students train for new manufacturing jobs with area industry partners. Companies are guaranteeing interviews to qualified completers of the C4M program.

For anyone interested in this program or interested in the local manufacturing industry, BPCC is hosting a public interest meeting Wednesday, April 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the BPCC Performing Arts Theater (Building C) on the BPCC Campus, 6220 E. Texas St., Bossier City.
 
Starting and Financing a Business
 
Louisiana Small Business Development Center hosts free workshop for entrepreneurs.
 
This workshop is presented by the Louisiana Small Business Development Center Northwest Region. It is highly recommended for all individuals interested in determining the feasibility of their business idea, planning to start or have recently started a small business, seeking a small business loan, or wanting to learn more about business planning. Topics of discussion will include writing a business plan, sources of funds for start-up and expansion, small business resources, and required licenses. 
 
The event will take place on Thursday, April 24 at Virginia College from 3-5 p.m. Speaker: Cooper Cochran, Business Consultant, Louisiana Small Business Development Center.  Register HERE

South Bossier Redevelopment Planning Meeting 

Residents and businesses welcomed to provide input to city planners.

The City of Bossier City and the South Bossier Citizens Assembly welcome input from businesses and residents at the upcoming South Bossier Redevelopment Planning Meeting set for Monday, April 28 at the CenturyLink Center.  Doors will open at 5 p.m. and the presentation will begin at 6 p.m.  Discussion topics will cover public input on improvements short-term and long-term dreams for the area.

Willis Knighton to Showcase New Innovation Center

Public grand opening set for May 4.

WKHS will hold a public grand opening of the Innovation Center on May 4 from 2-4 p.m.  The event will showcase the rebirth of the Bossier Medical Center which has been transformed into a Innovation Center to support health education, medical history, community activities, and healthcare support services.  View the official invitation here.

Gubernatorial Proclamation planned to honor military children. 
 
 
The month of April is designated as Month of the Military Child which recognizes the contribution that the military child makes as their parent or parents serve our nation. 
 
The public is invited to join us for a gubernatorial proclamation on Friday, April 25 at 1:30 p.m. at Cope Middle School in Bossier.
