Hello From Hilary
Our January Searching for Sun tour was a smashing success! The venues we discovered and the people we met in Washington, Oregon, and California made us excited to get back down the coast as soon as possible! (And, we found sun in San Diego, where our Boston Terrier Izzy got to do some romping on the first ever doggy beach)! We look forward to heading back down that way in May or June. The tour ended on a high note: our sold-out-show at Morso in Gig Harbor was revelatory. It was a uniquely spectacular success from my perspective--the crowd at the sold-out show helped bring out the best in us and the best of what we always hope live music performance to be. It was all caught on video, so look for snippets to come out on our You Tube channel, and on our Facebook pages!
This month, we head back to the Midwest. We've missed you already, can you tell? We are very excited to play Rose Music Hall in Columbia on February 10th with Violet Vonder Haar as our special guest. Spoiler alert: Violet and I may perform a duet together, just for our longtime Columbia listeners! Violet and I first shared a stage more than ten years ago! We will also have stops in Des Moines, Chicago, St. Louis and more. One show which I'm very honored to be part of is the Songbird Cafe series at the Focal Point Performing Arts Center in St. Louis. Songbird Cafe gets great songwriters from all over to perform "in the round". You won't want to miss that one on February 24th.
I've been getting more opportunities to work on the Indie Go Go song perks people ordered. I'm happy with the results, and so far, the recipients seem to be as well. I thank all of you again for your support and patience in the creative process!! Just to remind you of how much your support in the campaign accomplished, Freight Train Love won the Vintage Folk Album 2015 award from the NTCMA Rural Roots Music Commission, and it also placed #124 on the Roots Radio Music Report of top played Americana country albums in 2015, a couple of singles placed very high on the list as well (Get Your Love was rated #8 for most played Pop Single in 2014), I had the wonderful opportunity to be interviewed for Billboard, reviews in Maverick Magazine (print and online) and No Depression, among other opportunities and accolades the record has brought our way. We couldn't have done this without you and we thank you for taking this journey with us!
