Hilary Scott   A helping hand for a friend

Hello, friends. This January 10th I will help do what I think is the most important thing that can be done with music: bring people together to help someone out, and celebrate life and community.

Debra Hardin, who has been a friend for more than 10 years, is struggling with a stage IV return of cancer she thought she was done with years ago. It is of note that I met Debra through music, when she asked me to sing on a project she was recording in order to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer.

When I learned of Debra's recent diagnosis, I was shattered that she was facing this fight. I lived in Columbia, MO for several years, and one thing the Columbia community knows how to do is band together and help those in need. The musical community is especially good at this.

So I look forward to sharing the stage with many of Debra's friends that night, as well as reuniting with some of my most beloved friends (members of the original Hilary Scott Band) to raise some funds to help Debra.

There will also be an auction and raffle that night, with photos, art, and more. I will be auctioning off two memorabilia packages full of rare music (one you can bid on before January 10th which will be shipped to you, directions below) and giving $5 per unit of merchandise sold that night to the cause.

Debra has been a DJ on KOPN 89.5 for some time, and station volunteers are also banding together to help promote and organize the show. This is a lot of hearts and minds working together. We hope you will bring your heart and mind this Saturday, January 10th, to brighten Debra's life and assist in the fight.

The winner will be able to purchase package securely through PayPal on my official website. Should winning bid not be able to be completed, second highest bidder wins, and so forth. All funds go to Debra Hardin Benefit.
