The Doors of Perception: Vision and Innovation in Alternative Processes showcases contemporary photographers working with a diverse range of historic, or alternative, photographic processes, such as pinhole photography, tintype, cyanotype, platinum printing, and gum bichromate, as well as liquid emulsion. Employing these photographic processes from the past to create unique handmade photographic objects, the artists in this exhibition reinvest the photograph with what critic Walter Benjamin feared would vanish in the age of reproduction: the "aura" of a work of art.

PRC Seeks Volunteer Committee Members
We are excited to announce that we are searching for a few dedicated members to serve on three different PRC committees. Currently, the PRC Board of Directors and staff are active on numerous committees essential for the long term success of the organization, but we'd like to reach out to our membership to include your voices on the committees below. We need hands-on volunteers ready to jump in and work with us immediately through the completion of these programs. We hold both in-person meetings and phone conference calls.
Spring Fundraiser Committee
The PRC is planning a spring fundraising event to present a never-before-seen collection of work that we've acquired since we opened our doors in 1975. We'll present and sell this work at a special evening with collectors sometime between late April and early June. We seek members interested in fundraising and collecting. Please contact Glenn Ruga, Executive Director, at 617-975-0600 or gruga@prcboston.org if you'd like to join this committee.
Auction Committee
After conducting two successful auctions using a format that that has been in place for many years, the PRC Board of Directors is committed to developing a different format for this year's benefit auction/fundraiser. We are not yet ready to go public with our plans, but we do need more help from our membership to make this event a success. The event will happen sometime between mid-October to early November 2013. Please contact Glenn Ruga, Executive Director, at 617-975-0600 or gruga@prcboston.org if you'd like to join this committee.
Accessibility Committee
The PRC is establishing a brand new committee to focus on accessibility issues and working with diverse populations. If you are passionate about advocating for people with disabilities and chronic illnesses and if you want to see more inclusion in the PRC's programming, this committee is for you! Please contact Erin Wederbrook Yuskaitis, Program & Exhibition Manager, at 617-975-0600 ewyuskaitis@prcboston.org if you are interested in joining.

SATELLITE EXHIBITION The Space in Between
January 28 - March 22, 2013 Satellite Exhibition at Boston Properties Atlantic Wharf Gallery 290 Congress Street, Boston, MA
The Space in Between features artwork that focuses on societal built environments in urban settings. The images capture supposedly empty or vacant scenes in public spaces where humans are present without being pictured. The very absence of human subjects forces the viewer to contemplate the space in between these human-made structures. While firmly rooted in the 21st century, these photographs also portray a timeless feel, as if the artists froze the frame at the initial moment of abandonment, preserving a particular constructed expression of culture for generations to come.
