Want to learn more about our community and our work? There's a new cover story about us in the July/August issue of Yale Alumni Magazine -- just pick up a copy, or head over to their website to read it online.
I think my favorite line of the story is this: "What's striking about the Yale Humanist Community, then, isn't what it doesn't believe in, but what it does."
Want to explore what you do believe in community with others? We hope you'll join us this Sunday, July 10 at 1 PM at The Grove for our second Humanist Haven of the summer, featuring a talk from our very own Kathleen Green on the importance of articulating our values and beliefs.
Read on for more information about her talk, as well as some upcoming talks I'm doing in the Midwest and in Hartford. We hope to see you soon, either in New Haven or elsewhere.
Best,
Chris Stedman, Executive Director

Humanist Haven: This I Believe
Featuring Kathleen Green on 7/10.
While our personal worldview may be ever-evolving throughout our life's journey, it is important to learn how to articulate our beliefs (not just our non-beliefs!) and be open to listening to the articulation of another's beliefs. This is how we expand our capacity for collaboration and live most authentically. At our July Humanist Haven gathering, Kathleen Green will discuss the importance of articulating our beliefs-and the difference doing so makes in our lives and the lives of the people around us. Click here to RSVP on Facebook and click here to RSVP on Meetup.
Humanist Haven is YHC's community gathering where people from all across Yale and New Haven come together to ask big questions, explore what gives our lives meaning and purpose, and act to make the world a better place. Over the summer, Humanist Haven meets on the second Sunday of each month. Join us at The Grove -- 760 Chapel Street, New Haven, CT -- on the second Sunday of July (7/10) at 1 PM for Humanist Haven with Kathleen Green.
Kathleen A. Green is a board member of the Yale Humanist Community and a Unitarian Universalist (UU) minister who has served congregations in Illinois, Wisconsin, California, and New Jersey. She received her undergraduate degree from Thomas Edison State College in NJ, her Master of Divinity degree from Meadville-Lombard Theological School in Chicago, and is currently a doctoral candidate in multifaith studies at NY Theological Seminary in New York City. Kathleen has a long history of social justice work including involvement with the UU legislative ministries of both California and New Jersey, serving on the board of the latter. As well, she recently served on the board of the Metro NY district of Unitarian Universalists, served as Treasurer of the Ridgewood Interfaith Religious Leaders, and was a member of the Faith and Reproductive Justice Leadership Institute at the Center for American Progress in Washington, DC. Currently, Kathleen is a member of the Interfaith Alliance, American Humanist Association, and the Feminist Caucus of the AHA. Rev. Green is most passionate about the strength of interfaith relationships that include humanists in the struggle for social justice.
