Thursday, July 2: Bike Parade & Ice Cream Social
|
All Wind Point families are invited to celebrate Independence Day at the annual Bike Parade and Ice Cream Social next Thursday, July 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Village Green Park on 4 Mile Road.
Kids dress in red, white and blue! Decorate bikes, scooters or wagons! Meet in the parking lot of Village Green Park. The parade route is east on E. 4 Mile Rd., right on Fairway Dr., left on E. Point Dr., left on James Ave., left on Hollow Creek and back around to Village Green.
A police car will lead the way, followed by Grand Marshall Bill Reid (Wind Point resident, noted scultpor, Artist in Residence at the Prairie School) who will ride the Catiwac, his whimsical catfish pedal car!
Ice cream treats will be served to all after the parade (compliments of the Wind Point Community Club, a non-profit group promoting social activities in the Village). Read more... |

Friday, July 3 - Outdoor Movie Night at Shoop Park

 The Wizard of Oz is coming to Wind Point on an outdoor screen! Wind Point Living Magazine is hosting an outdoor movie night next Friday, July 3 at 8 p.m. at Shoop Park Golf Course. Everyone is invited! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Courtesy popcorn and bottled water provided by Piggly Wiggly. Restrooms and concessions will be available in the Shoop clubhouse throughout the evening. Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters from the movie!
Seating will come on a first come basis. While there is no RSVP required, we would like to get a sense of interest for planning purposes. We encourage you to RSVP by June 30 to marie.smith@n2pub.com. Individuals who RSVP will be entered into a drawing for gift cards to local restaurants (must be present to win). |
