Outdoor Movie Night at Shoop Park this Friday
 The Wizard of Oz is coming to Wind Point on an outdoor screen! Wind Point Living Magazine is hosting an outdoor movie night this Friday, July 3 at 8 p.m. at Shoop Park Golf Course. Everyone is invited! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets. Courtesy popcorn and bottled water provided by Piggly Wiggly. Restrooms and concessions will be available in the Shoop clubhouse throughout the evening. Attendees are encouraged to dress as their favorite characters from the movie!

Mark your calendar for the annual Wind Point Village Picnic! This year's picnic is scheduled for Sunday, August 23, 4 p.m. till dusk at Village Green Park on 4 Mile Road. More information will be in next month's E-News!

Daytime Bridge Marathon
 Would you like to play in the Wind Point Bridge Marathon this coming year? Pairs play once a month from August through May. One partner must live in the Village; no partner -- we will help find you one. It is a great marathon, and a nice way to meet some of your neighbors. Ordinance Reminders
Fireworks - fireworks that propel into the air are prohibited in Wind Point.
Skates and skateboards - Sec. 15.19 of the Village Code prohibits rollerskating, rollerblading and skateboarding on Three Mile Rd., Four Mile Rd., N. Main St. and Lighthouse Dr.
Driveway resurfacing - a Right-of-Way Permit is required before repaving a driveway. The permit fee is $50.00. Special approval and a deposit is needed for resurfacing the apron portion of the driveway. A permit is not required for sealing the driveway.
Roofs - a Building Permit is required for a roof replacement (tear-off/replace only). The permit fee is $50.00.

Ironman Comes to Wind Point on Sunday, July 19
The annual Ironman 70.3 Racine Triathlon will take place on Sunday, July 19. The bike portion of the triathlon will pass through the Village on N. Main St. and will cause delays for vehicles entering and leaving the Village. The heaviest bike traffic is expected to occur between 7:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. Emergency response vehicles will be given priority to enter and leave the Village during the race.
The run portion of the event will come through Wind Point on Three Mile Rd., will head north on Lighthouse Dr., turn around at Shoop Park and head back the same way toward Racine. The northbound lane will be used by the runners and the southbound lane will remain open to traffic. Please be extra cautious on the roads at these times!

Village Staff Updates
- We're pleased to welcome Daniel Renguette to the office team for the summer. Daniel is a Wind Point resident and student at UW-Parkside. He is serving as administrative intern to assist with scanning, filing and other office projects.
- Brandon Bledsoe completed his internship with us on June 25 and accepted a position with the Village of Pardeeville as Village Clerk/Treasurer.

Village Board Highlights
At the regular Village Board meeting on June 11, the Board...
- Presented a proclamation to Police Chief David Rossman in recognition his 40 years of service to the Village.
- Approved Pay Request #1 for the 2015 Road Project to Payne & Dolan in the amount of $55,154.80.
- Approved a Conditional Use Permit to raze an existing house and build a new house at 5221 Wind Point Rd. (Jones).
- Adopted Ordinance 15-02 which changes the number of members of the Architectural Review Board to six, establishes that half of the members are required for a quorum, removes the building inspector as an ex-officio member and establishes that the village clerk is the secretary.
- Adopted Ordinance 15-04 which clarifies that outdoor burning by Village employees may take place in the public works yard and is not restricted by the noon to 7 p.m. timeframe.
- Discussed proposals for revaluation services and continued the item to the July 9 meeting for further consideration.
- Denied a request by Ragnar Relay Race to use Three Mile Rd. and Lighthouse Dr. for the overnight race on June 13.
- Approved the renewal of alcohol licenses and operator licenses and the issuance of three new operator licenses.
- Referred a request to the Parks & Facilities Committee to consider allowing pickleball play on the Village Green tennis courts.
- Referred a request to the Maintenance Manager and Village Engineer to review a drainage issue along Bayfield Ct.
- Referred a request for staff to enforce the littering law with regard to delivery of yellow phone books.
- Referred a request to issue a disclaimer to residents about recent water lateral insurance mailings.
The Village Board will meet for a regular meeting on Thursday, July 9 at 5:30 p.m. at the Village Hall (Lighthouse).
