Give TRI a Try
|
Akers Ellis will be well represented again at this year's Kiawah Island Triathlon on September 20. We have several individuals and relay teams participating in this exciting .7 mile swim, 25.1 mile bike, and 6.1 mile run around beautiful Kiawah Island.
Won't you join us? Maybe you've never participated in this type of event before. Some of us haven't either, but there's still time to train. Let's TRI together!
Reserve your triathlon accommodations by July 31 and receive a 10% discount on your stay. Book online and use promo code TRI2015 at check-out.
Some properties are excluded from this discount; check for availability. Minimum stay requirements may apply. Offer may not be combined with any other promotion and cannot be applied to existing reservations.

Sea Turtle Update
|
Salty, our resident sea turtle, has been busy keeping an eye out for his fellow friends. He is pleased to report that Kiawah has over 150 sea turtle nests so far this season!
Last year's hatches started in mid-July. Be sure to plan your Kiawah vacation to coincide with this exciting and memorable event!
Sea turtle season on Kiawah is mid-May through late October. Dedicated, trained Turtle Patrol volunteers regularly walk the beach and record data about the nests and hatchings. This information is reported to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, who reports that Kiawah's hatch rate is about 70 percent thanks to the daily human intervention.
Please help us out by never disturbing a turtle nest and by remembering to turn off oceanfront lights at night. Salty and his friends thank you!
