There are lots of good reasons to spend an hour or so at the Northborough Senior Center's Bistro@119 on Tuesday evenings. For starters, in summer, the air conditioning feels great! Beyond that, the Bistro volunteers are friendly and helpful, and no doubt you'll see folks you know and others you'll be glad to meet. Perhaps most important, the food is delicious, and reasonably priced.
Check out the menus on the right for July and August.
Regular dinner price: $8;
for Special-event evenings on July 23 and August 20, please reserve your $11 tickets ahead of time, at the Senior Center reception desk, 508-393-5035. And feel free to forward this email to friends and neighbors!
Feeling Lucky?
Finally, another Tuesday evening feature is the 50-50 raffle conducted by the Friends of the Northborough Senior Center. A winning name is drawn on the last Tuesday of the month and, to date, 14 lucky winners have gone home with about $50 (half of the dollars collected that month). For a $1 raffle ticket, you too could be a winner! The Friends use the other half of the proceeds in support of programs and activities at the Senior Center. Hope to see you at the evening Bistro soon!

This fall members of the Sr. Center are invited to join Algonquin Regional High School students in reading Never Fall Down. Based on the true story of Arn Chorn-Pond, this is an achingly raw and powerful novel about a child of war who becomes a man of peace. In her new book, author Patricia McCormick describes the atrocities of the Cambodian genocide, drawing upon the experiences of Pond, a real-life survivor of this horrible ordeal.
