As we wind down 2013, it's a bit staggering to think about how busy we've been. It's been a banner year for new products here at Dynon: we've introduced the D2, our revolutionary SkyView COM Radio, a stereo two-place Intercom, a redesigned Autopilot with IFR capability, US/EU Charts and Airport Diagrams, and 5 major free SkyView software releases. You can now build an entire panel with only Dynon Avionics. Pretty neat, I think. Somehow some of us found time to build an airplane this year too!

We're excited to bring you some new tools to help you learn more about everything SkyView offers: The Dynon Channel is back from its recent hibernation, and the new Dynon Preflight Brief area of our site will take you "behind the panel." I hope you enjoy exploring them. And of course, next year we'll be introducing - well - we'll leave that until after the holidays.

We'll be closed for a few days around Christmas and the New Year to spend some time with our families. See the details about that below. Thank you so much for helping make this a record year for us!

New SkyView Training & Feature Videos
As 2014 gets underway, we're relaunching The Dynon Channel with a series of "How-To" training videos focused on SkyView. We've already posted detailed Autopilot videos, including one that explains the new Simplified Control Scheme, and will be publishing new videos often.  Is there a SkyView feature you would like to see explained in an in-flight video? Send your detailed question to info@dynonavionics.com, then subscribe to The Dynon Channel on YouTube to receive emailed updates as we continuously add new videos.

Dynon Stocking Stuffer

Still looking for that perfect gift for the pilot in your life? How about one so portable it can even fit in their stocking? Have Santa bring them the latest portable EFIS: the Dynon D2 Pocket Panel!

The D2 builds on the popular D1 Pocket Panel with Wi-Fi connectivity to send its flight data to popular tablet and smartphone aviation applications. The D2 also has a new G-meter display page.

Since they're portable, EVERY pilot can have a backup artificial horizon with accurate pitch and roll, just by mounting a Pocket Panel in their aircraft. In fact, the Dynon Pocket Panels are built with the same Dynon MEMS-based AHRS technology as Dynon's industry leading panel mounted EFIS systems for experimental and Light Sport Aircraft.

Additional features common to the D1 and D2 are an internal GPS receiver for GPS ground speed, altitude, vertical speed, and ground track.  Included with the both are Dynon's own "pinch" mount bracket which allows the D1/D2 to be easily placed in any empty standard instrument hole. You also receive a RAMŽ suction cup mount, an AC power adapter, a DC vehicle power adapter, an external GPS antenna, and a built-in Li-Ion battery that lasts at least four hours on a charge.

The D2 is priced at $1,425, and the D1 is now only $1,195. Please visit our website for more information, videos  and a list of dealers that can get you one before the big day.

SkyView Hands-On Training Classes

Our SkyView training classes are an ongoing series of hands-on three-hour courses, instructed by Kirk Kleinholz, CFII and Sales Manager for Dynon Avionics.  For more information about classes see the Transition Training page on our website.
