Dynon Header 01
Completing the Panel
It is a busy time here at Dynon. We've got the release of our new SkyView COM Radio, Intercom, and SkyView 6.0 all launching over the coming few days. In fact, our development team has made liars out of us marketeers: We claimed "June" for 6.0 release, but they've delivered the new software as of today, May 30!

In addition to these product releases, we've firmed up the dates for our SkyView transition training classes at Oshkosh. That info is below the product release details in this newsletter.

And speaking of Oshkosh - if you're going, please come visit us! All of our new products, the D1 (still currently $1295 after rebate through June) and the D10/D100 series will be at our booth in Building D: 4053-4054-4055.

Finally, we now have autopilot installation kits available for the Sonex/Waiex. The designer of the installation kit (David Weber - Dynon's mechanical engineer) built his Sonex from plans and has been having fun testing his own design around the Seattle area.

Thanks for your continued support!

SkyView COM Radio, Intercom, and SkyView 6.0 release details!
SkyView COM Radio - Available June 3rd

The radio is available in horizontal and vertical versions. The two versions are actually different products. They cannot be converted via a faceplate change. To order, the official part numbers and descriptions are:

SV-COM-C25/H  SkyView VHF Com Radio (25 kHz, Horizontal)

SV-COM-C25/V  SkyView VHF Com Radio (25kHz, Vertical)

They are priced at $1,295 and are available directly from us or your favorite Dynon dealer.

Please note that this product is 25 kHz spacing only and works in the US and other countries with 25 kHz spacing systems. The SV-COM-C25 is not TSO'd. It must be installed with a Dynon SkyView System.

See the product page on our website here for more information here. Dimensions and Panel cut outs are also available here

The SV-COM-C25 module requires a separate external antenna and coax cable which we do not sell; any antenna suitable for use with an aircraft COM will work.

Finally, the SV-COM-C25 requires SkyView Version 6.0, which is available on the SkyView Downloads page of our website

Dynon Two-Place Stereo Intercom - Available June 3rd

Unlike the radio, the SV-INTERCOM-S2 comes with both horizontal and vertical faceplates. To order, the official part number and description is:

SV-INTERCOM-2S Two-Place Stereo Intercom

The SV-INTERCOM-2S is priced at $295 and is available directly from us or your favorite Dynon dealer.

Although the SV-INTERCOM-2S was designed to integrate well with Dynon SkyView, it can be installed in ANY experimental or light sport aircraft, even those without other Dynon products in the panel. The SV-INTERCOM-2S includes headset jacks in addition to the vertical and horizontal faceplates, and is not TSO'd.

See the product page on our website here for more information here.

Dimensions and Panel cut outs are also available here

SkyView Version 6.0 - Available NOW!

Version 6.0 is available on the SkyView Downloads page of our website. With SkyView 6.0 Dynon Avionics delivers a highly capable autopilot for expert pilots who fly IFR, as well as an alternate set of simplified controls for those who prefer VFR simplicity.

For the IFR pilot, SkyView's new autopilot features include VNAV, IAS Hold, mode sequencing, fully-coupled approaches, a Flight Director with cross or wings presentations, and more. VFR pilots can cruise in comfort - without a steep learning curve - with these new streamlined controls. With a single button press the autopilot will either fly in the direction and at the altitude you choose or follow a navigation source, such as GPS flight plans.

We've also added the new LEVEL button, an incredible safety feature. When pressed, the autopilot will immediately return the aircraft to straight and level flight. In addition to the on-screen LEVEL button, an optional external level button (not provided) can be installed as well.

Simplified/Expert autopilot control selection is accomplished via a setup menu option, so pilots can try both and see which works best for their flying style.

The rest of the SkyView system also received several other improvements to its current features. These include an MDA (minimums) Bug, COM Radio integration, and backup battery monitoring and testing.  For a full list of all the additions please see the SkyView User Manual available here.

SkyView 6.0 is a FREE upgrade for all existing SkyView customers and can be downloaded from the Dynon Website here.

SkyView Hands-On Training - Upcoming Classes!

We at Dynon recognize that transition training is important before piloting a new airplane, or airplane type. Whether in the clouds or in clear skies, flying a new plane is not the right time to be learning how to operate aircraft avionics. Our SkyView training classes are an ongoing series of hands-on three-hour courses, instructed by Kirk Kleinholz, CFII and Sales Manager for Dynon Avionics.  Participants sit in front of live SkyView equipment and learn in-depth how to operate SkyView.  For more information about classes see the Transition Training page on our website.
