Dynon Moves to Complete the Panel
For a long time, Dynon's mission has been to "complete the panel" in experimental and light sport aviation. Tomorrow  at Sun 'n Fun we'll be introducing new products and upgrades to SkyView that realize that goal!  Read on to learn more.

If you've been thinking about picking up a D1, there's never been a better time to buy one. We're announcing a $130 rebate through June 30, bringing the price down to $1295 after rebate!

We're at Sun 'n Fun in Lakeland, FL all week demoing all of our new products. If you're there too, please stop by our booth in hangar A at A-034, 035, and 036!

A Revolutionary Integrated SkyView COM Radio
The SV-COM-C25 will change the way pilots use their COM radio.

The SV-COM-C25 is powerful, flexible, and designed to reduce the pilot's workload.

With tight integration to the SkyView system, the SV-COM-C25 lets you tune frequencies by airport and station type - rather than by spinning in a number - at the touch of a button on the dedicated control panel. Or, when using your SkyView's mapping features and built in database, you can send frequencies to the radio from SkyView's airport information pages. For when you're feeling nostalgic (or listening to ATC instructions), the control panel's dual concentric knobs let you spin in frequencies the old-fashioned way.  SkyView will identify the airport and station type as you tune to ensure you're talking to the right radio station.

The SV-COM-C25 consists of a dedicated control panel and a remote-mounted transceiver module: The control panel is only 3.53" x 1.80" x 1.27" deep and is available in horizontal and vertical versions. Two vertical control panels fit perfectly when mounted next to a 10" SkyView display, while two horizontal panels fit nicely under a 7" SkyView display. For redundancy, the SV-COM-C25 will continue to function with the rest of SkyView powered off; however, it does rely on SkyView for setup. Therefore, the SV-COM-C25 is exclusive to Dynon's SkyView system.

Other features include dual watch, fully backlit and auto-dimming controls, one-touch flip-flop with remote trigger ability, transmit and receive indicators (with active/standby receive differentiation), and a stuck mic indicator with transmit time-out.

The SV-COM-C25 is expected to be available in June 2013 for $1,295. It comes in horizontal and vertical versions; 25 kHz spacing only; not TSO'd.

New Dynon Intercom
The SV-INTERCOM-2S offers audio panel features at half the price.

Our new two-place stereo intercom solves the problem of having to choose between an under-featured intercom and an expensive audio panel. The SV-INTERCOM-2S has everything you need to connect EFIS systems, stereo music, and other audio devices in your panel.

Ample inputs are provided to handle the audio sources in your modern instrument panel. These include: dual muting inputs (one stereo for music), four non-muting inputs (one stereo for capable EFIS systems such as SkyView; the rest mono for radios and other avionics), dual stereo headset connections, and dual radio outputs.

Selectable Auto Mute automatically turns down the music when a radio or other non-muting input (such as an EFIS alert) receives audio. A single knob press toggles whether or not intercom speech mutes music as well. To minimize background noise, the SV-INTERCOM-2S has independent intercom voice activation, so talking on one headset won't open up squelch on the other. Radio broadcasts are isolated so only the person pressing their PTT is heard over the air, with the pilot's transmission receiving priority when both PTTs are pressed. A failsafe connection between the primary radio and the pilot's headset allow radio transmissions in all conditions.

While the SV-INTERCOM-2S integrates seamlessly with Dynon SkyView systems, it can be installed in ANY experimental or light sport aircraft - even those without other Dynon products in the panel.

The SV-INTERCOM-2S is expected to be available in June 2013 for $295. Horizontal and vertical faceplates are included, as are headset jacks; not TSO'd.

SkyView 6.0 adds IFR Autopilot Capability
New Expert IFR Capability or Streamlined VFR Simplicity. Your Choice.

With SkyView 6.0, Dynon Avionics delivers a highly capable autopilot for expert pilots who fly IFR, as well as an alternate set of simplified controls for those who prefer VFR simplicity.

For the IFR pilot, SkyView's new autopilot features include VNAV, IAS Hold, mode sequencing, fully-coupled approaches, a flight director with single cue (v-bars) or dual cue (crosshairs) presentation, and more. These new features complete the system by building on existing modes such as heading hold, GPS ground track hold, altitude hold, and control wheel steering.

VFR pilots in search of the hundred dollar hamburger can cruise in comfort - without a steep learning curve - thanks to a new alternative set of simplified autopilot controls built into SkyView. This new mode streamlines the autopilot modes to those pilots use most: HSI+ALT for following navigation sources such as GPS flight plans, and TRK+ALT for simply flying in the direction and at the altitude you choose. Each of these modes activates with a single button press.

Simplified/Expert autopilot control selection is accomplished via a setup menu option so pilots can try both and see which works best for their flying style.

We've also added the new LEVEL button that can be activated from the either SkyView's menu or an external button. When pressed, the autopilot will immediately return the aircraft to straight and level flight. Pilots can also set a "minimums" alert to enhance situational awareness when flying an approach.

SkyView 6.0 will be available in June 2013, and, of course, will be a FREE upgrade for all existing SkyView customers.

Additional information is available in the updated Autopilot product brochure.

SkyView Hands-On Training - Don't miss Sun 'n Fun Classes!

We at Dynon recognize that transition training is important before piloting a new airplane, or airplane type. Whether in the clouds or in clear skies, flying a new plane is not the right time to be learning how to operate aircraft avionics. Our SkyView training classes are an ongoing series of hands-on three-hour courses, instructed by Kirk Kleinholz, CFII and Sales Manager for Dynon Avionics.  Participants sit in front of live SkyView equipment and learn in-depth how to operate SkyView.  For more information about classes see the Transition Training page on our website.

Factory Transition Training Classes

The next classes are being held at our factory near Seattle, Washington.  The classes are free, but please do sign up so we know you are coming. If you are from out of town and want to make a weekend of it, nearby are some incredible aviation sites. The Seattle Museum of Flight, Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection (perfectly restored, flight worthy WWII aircraft), and the Boeing Factory Tour (747s, 777s, and 787s) are must sees.

If you are interested in seeing Seattle while you are here check out these aviation attractions:
