Dynon Changes - November 2012
There are a few changes here at Dynon I want you to be the first to know about. Nick Bogner, long time Dynon engineer and manager, has left to pursue an excellent career opportunity. Nick is a good friend, and we wish him the best in his new adventure.

I have been appointed the President of Dynon.  Michael Schofield is now our Marketing Manager, and Kirk Kleinholz our Sales Manager.  We have a great team of people here at Dynon, and we will continue to grow the company and fulfill our mission to provide you the highest quality avionics at affordable prices.

Biographies for each of us are below. We are here to serve you, and look forward to seeing you at the 2013 fly-ins.

Also, we continue to step up our efforts to provide transition training. We will have SkyView Hands-On training at the major trade shows, plus at our factory near Seattle Washington.  See below to sign up for a training class.

Robert Hamilton
Robert Hamilton - President
Robert is an experienced electronics and aviation manager, and has been the Director of Sales and Marketing at Dynon for over four years.  His first hundred hours as PIC, many years ago, was in a beautiful J-3 cub (before it was an antique!) and he remains an avid pilot.  Previous to Dynon Robert was a co-founder of Seattle Avionics, and was a Senior Manager at the Fluke Corporation.

Michael Schofield - Marketing Manager

Michael is a Dynon product guru, private pilot, and has been with the company since 2005. Most recently, he has worked with the marketing and engineering teams at Dynon as a Product Manager. In his new role as Marketing Manager, Michael will additionally lead Dynon's marketing and customer service efforts. Michael is also active in the ASTM committees for light aircraft standards development. Before Dynon, Michael began his career at Microsoft after graduating with a degree in Computer Science from Rutgers University.

Kirk Kleinholz

Kirk Kleinholz - Sales Manager

Kirk is a CFII and is leading our transition training efforts, most notably by offering his hands-on SkyView training. Kirk has been with Dynon for three years as the Sales Account Manager and will now manage all dealer relations and sales personnel. Kirk is a former US Navy Aircrewman and Washington Pilots Association State President. He has been a pilot since 1995, and managed several small businesses before joining Dynon.

SkyView Hands-On Transition Training
Factory Classes

We all recognize that transition training is important before hopping into a new airplane, or airplane type. Whether in the clouds or in clear skies, flying a new plane is not the right time to be learning how to operate aircraft avionics and systems. We at Dynon recognize this, and offer an ongoing series of hands-on training. These are three hour courses, sitting in front of live SkyView equipment, and learning in depth how to operate your avionics. Instructing these classes will be Kirk Kleinholz, CFII and Sales Account Manager for Dynon Avionics.

The next classes are being held at our factory near Seattle, Washington.  The classes are free, but please do sign up so we know you are coming. If you are from out of town and want to make a weekend of it, nearby are some incredible aviation sites. The Seattle Museum of Flight, Paul Allen's Flying Heritage Collection (perfectly restored, flight worthy WWII aircraft), and the Boeing Factory Tour (747s, 777s, and 787s) are must sees.

An additional objective of this class is to educate pilots about the process of transitioning from analog instrumentation to glass panel systems in a small GA aircraft. Including the cognitive differences of analog and digital/electronic instrumentation, cockpit resource management, etc.

Transportation:

Attendees are responsible for their own transportation to/from the event.  However, for anyone wishing to fly via GA to one of the area airports, upon request special arrangements may be made to assist with ground transportation.
