How's the Market?
March, 2016

Hard to believe it's already March -- then again, February is a shorter month!

I just got back from a fabulous Garden Club of America meeting in Washington DC, that left me thinking about what I'm going to plant in my garden this year.   Go Native Plants!  If you're thinking about adding native plants for your gardens, check out these opportunities for purchasing them:  Lake CountyLake Forest Open Lands, and Wilmette and Glencoe are teaming up to sell them.

"What's My Home Worth?"  It's a question that many people wonder and ask themselves.  BHHS-KoenigRubloff now provides a quick tool that you can use to
determine an estimate of the value of your home.  The tool features a Lenders' Estimate powered by Collateral Analytics' and broker-quality MLS sales data.   I tried it out on my own home and was pleased with the answer -- it came out about what I thought my house was worth.   Check it out at this site.

Interestingly enough in the same vein, I just read a real estate article, The Death of Competitive Market Analyses as We Know Them.  It indicates that the standard by which we value our homes today (bedroom count, price/square foot, etc.), may become obsolete in the future.  The focus for homebuyers is shifting from the number of bedrooms, bath, etc. to lifestyle, affordability and commute time.  It was an interesting read and something to watch.

Today I'm remembering my sweet father and how on March 1st, he always sent my nephew David, a celebratory Happy St. David's Day email.

With a nod to my Dad, I wish you a Happy St. David's Day!

As always, if there is anything I can do to help you with your real estate needs, please don't hesitate to ask.
