Good Things Happen Every Day at
The Silver Academy!
|
Rachel Zilbering, Principal
It is my pleasure to welcome everyone back to The Silver Academy for the start of another school year. We have many exciting things planned but most importantly, I am so happy to see the students again!
We kicked off the school year with a back to school picnic at Green Hills. Despite a major thunderstorm about a half hour before, the sky was clear and we had a great time getting swimming, eating and just catching up on our summers.
I look forward to seeing all of the parents for Back to School night on Thursday, September 10th from 6:45 - 8:00 pm.
If in the meantime you have any questions, concerns, suggestions, etc. please feel free to contact me anytime by phone or email.
Have a great year, everyone!

סיכום - Summary
- This week's Torah portion begins with the last part of Moses' farewell address to the children of Israel
- It marks the end of Moses' review of the laws by which Israel is to live in the land which they will soon enter.
- It tells of the biblical harvest ritual where the Israelite farmers were to bring their first fruits as an offering.
- Moses tells the people: "If you will observe all the commandments, you will be showered with blessings."
-
Moses also warned the Children of Israel to remember to bear in mind that if they would not practice G-d's commandments, then the blessings would turn to bitter curses.

Look Who's New at the Silver Academy

We are thrilled to introduce Miss Leah Himmelberger as our new Health and Physical Education teacher! Leah earned her Bachelor's in education at Lock Haven University in 2012. Since graduating, she has been working near her hometown of Mohrsville, Pa. For the past three years, Miss Himmelberger has worked as the summer camp director and pool manager at the Berkshire Country Club in Reading. She also worked for the local YMCA as a staff member in their after school care program. Last year, she held a position within the Pine Grove School District as a long term Health and Physical Education substitute.
When Leah is not working, she enjoys fishing, playing sports, reading, relaxing, and hanging out with her niece, Lily. She currently lives with her parents in her childhood home, along with her niece. Leah has a twin sister, Jessica, who is currently serving in the Navy.
Miss Himmelberger is excited for this school year at The Silver Academy and looks forward to meeting everyone and working with your children! Please feel free to contact her if you have any questions about the school year.
