Hebrew in the Eighth Grade
Can you believe it is only five and a half weeks until the 8th grade students leave for Israel? They are very excited! As a final preparation we started a special program, "Passport to Israel", where students learn practical Hebrew for the trip. They are practicing how to talk in Hebrew to the security personnel of "El Al", how to read a Hebrew airline ticket and understand where to go in the airport, how to ask for help on a plane, order food and talk to store keepers, and ask where to go for fun in Israel. They are also learning some everyday Hebrew slang ... It is all talking, talking, talking ... in Hebrew.
