You Can Have it All, Just Not All at Once!
Presented by: Sherri Elliott-Yeary, CEO of Optimance Workforce Strategies
The topic of work balance was not as important in the past as it is today because, in the past, people were often able to tend to primarily one major role in their life, i.e., a business woman or a homemaker, rather than to several roles, i.e., business woman, homemaker and mother.
As business professionals, we experience successes, detours and setbacks on the road to building and living life to the fullest. Many of us have one thing in common. We believe that having it all isn't about competing with others, it's about powerfully choosing the life you want, the life that works for you, so you can live your life to the fullest.
Growth of any kind cannot occur without enduring some pain and discomfort, as with the lesson of the butterfly, we must acknowledge that cocoons can't fly. Often times we try to fly, carrying baggage we don't need, beating our wings until we're exhausted, never realizing there is a better way to live life.
Many of us have a deep desire to get back to the basics and achieve balance in our personal and business lives while having enough time for our soul sustaining relationships.
During this event we will discuss:
- If you really have it all, you probably want to give some back
- How to powerfully say "yes" or "no" without feeling guilty
- Identify moments of choice
Tuesday, June 4, 2013 11:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Brinker International 6700 LBJ Freeway Bldg. C, CR Play Room Dallas, Texas 75240

SBA Finalizes Rule Adopting Changes to Contracting Program for Women-Owned Small Businesses
An interim final rule published in the Federal Register and effective immediately will amend regulations to the U.S. Small Business Administration's Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract Program allowing for greater access to federal contracting opportunities for women-owned businesses as a result of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2013 (NDAA) signed in January.
The interim final rule removes the anticipated award price of the contract thresholds for women-owned small businesses (WOSB) and economically disadvantaged women-owned small businesses (EDWOSB) to allow them greater access to federal contracting opportunities without limitations to the size of the contract.
