businessWORKS! is the southwest's leading business development expo for connecting women business owners with corporations, businesses, government entities, institutions and other organizations. It provides the opportunity to get acquainted with new business partners and to identify new companies that can assist in reaching your business goals.

 

Invite your prime suppliers and buyers. The WBCS offers buyer passes that allow corporate buyers and primes to attend the event at no charge. Email Leslie Kazen for more information.

  

To exhibit, you must be a member of the WBCS, you must be a woman-owned business certified through the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) or a corporation/public entity.

Terri Wright, procurement specialist minority/women business development for Texas Instruments, has been volunteering her time to serve on the WBCS Certification Committee for over a decade. Her extensive knowledge of minority and women-owned businesses and the certification process makes her invaluable to this committee. She participates in numerous WBCS events where she excels at looking for ways to utilize WBEs for Texas Instruments' procurement needs.

North texas tollway Authority (NTTA) "open for business" Vendor Forum

March 21, 2013

  

In collaboration with the Denton Chambers of Commerce, this symposium provides information on contract opportunities for future projects, how to do business with the NTTA and how to become M/WBE and DBE-certified.

 

Participants will have the opportunitiy to meet with NTTA's project delivery staff, information technology, purchasing, maintenance and diversity personnel.

 Austin Council Connection Luncheon  

 The Four Manifestations of Leadership 

 

When different leadership styles are brought into a team or group, the results can manifest in a variety of ways.

 

Please join us as Madeleine York, CEO of York Career Development Inc., helps you develop your own model for deciding on both the relevance, as well as the effectiveness, of any or all of these manifestations in your work.  You'll leave with a clear understanding of the four leadership initiatives and what your next steps will be to becoming a more powerful leader in business.
