The recent and unfortunate mass shootings in the USA have raised the public's concern regarding security and safety on college campuses, as well as in sports facilities and other community venues (e.g., movie theaters, shopping malls). Buckner believes it is important for community officials, educational administrators, sports leaders and other stakeholders to engage in ongoing dialogue to seek improvements in safety plans, security procedures and emergency guidelines.
