UW-Stevens Point & WIST awarded $4.2 Million to support Wisconsin's pulp and paper industry. Wisconsin's collaborative industrial and education community will be able to access a cellulosic biorefinery, and new specialty paper, packaging and converting equipment at pilot scale. JSOnline reports the full story here. 
Appleton Coated Papers announced its partnership with Illinois-based ConVerd. Appleton Coated will supply specially designed paper for ConVerd's GreenLight Plus! product line for printing and signage applications. Read more about the partnership here: ConVerd

Meridian announced full production capabilities by 2014 at the K Show in Germany. Meridian has methodically built its sales pipe-line and expects 30,000 tons of PHA polymer will be available annually from its Bainbridge, Georgia manufacturing site. Read the announcement here: Meridian
