The following is an email that I received about a week ago and thought I would share it with everyone. "In the attachment is the plant that you said would look dead and not to dig it up. This year I gave up on it because it was the middle of June and nothing but dead branches. I started pulling on it and it felt like it still had life. So I left it there and in July it started coming up again. This has never bloomed like this before. Never give up on this plant." This is a dwarf Crape Myrtle and in this area Crape Myrtles are notorious for looking and acting like they are dead in the spring normally until May in this area. But with extreme cold the past two winters many plants including this Crape Myrtle have struggled to rejoin the world of the living until much later than normal. So, as this customer states don't give up on this plant. |
