NYC Day Trip
Hello everyone,

Once again it's time to plan our annual bus trip to NYC.  You don't need to be a member of any organization to join us.
You don't need to know anyone who knows anyone ( a RI thing).  You don't even need to be from RI.
The date this year is Saturday April 14, 2012.  We will be leaving the Rte 117 park and ride in Warwick at 7:30 AM (Exit 10 A).  The bus will make 3 stops in NYC on Fifth Ave:  1) uptown around 82nd St.,  2) midtown around 45th St. and 3) downtown around Greenwich Village or Soho.
At 6:30 PM the bus will pick us up behind the NY Public Library at Bryant Park (between 40 & 42nd St.  and 5th and 6th Ave.) for our trip home.  We should arrive back in Warwick about 10 - 10:30 PM.

There are so many reasons to go to NYC as the spring!!!!! blossoms start to bloom.  Some will shop; some will go to the theater;  of course there are so many art galleries and museums to visit.  You could go down to Wall Street and occupy! While down there, take a walk across the Brooklyn Bridge. You'll see all of Manhattan, the Statue of Liberty, Ground Zero, etc.  The Tenement Museum is fascinating.  There's a wonderful walk on the High Line through the Chelsea area chock full of galleries.  Greenwich Village and Soho are wonderfully funky.  Some have shopped in hidden places on Canal Street.  The American Watercolor Society has its annual exhibit at that time of year.  Some will want to explore the beauty of Central Park.  And there are some great spots in Harlem for art, music and food.  I'm sure many of you have other spots or ideas that you'd love to explore or revisit.

For those of you who were with us last year , you'll be happy to know that I am working with a new bus company.  The buses are a little bigger, more modern and more professional!!!.

Because of our using a  better bus, I have had to raise the fare a bit.  The fare will be $40 per person.  This price will cover gratuities also.

If you would like to join us or if you know of anyone else who would like to join us, please get in touch with me at:
and I will put your name(s) on the list.  Payment will not be due until March 14.

Looking forward to going to NYC with you.
