Daniels Training Services
August/September 2016

From the Dog Days of Summer to School Days, August and September have gone by and now we're in October.  So that must mean it's time for another Newsletter.  In order to make the Newsletter leaner and easier (faster) to assemble I'm going to experiment with removing some features.  It may result in a smaller Newsletter but, hopefully, it will be one that comes out more often.  Perhaps - dare I hope? - monthly.  Please let me know what you think.
Specification Packaging Markings on Intermediate Bulk Containers Specification Packaging Marking on Intermedicate Bulk Container for hazardous materials

A question through my website resulted in three rather technical and dry - even for me - articles that are very important to anyone who fills a HazMat packaging and then offers it for transportation.  And especially important if those packagings are IBCs!

Label for PCB Waste Use of the Uniform Hazardous Waste Manifest for Shipments of PCB Waste

Training Requirements for Employees Involved in the Transport of Lithium Batteries Smaller Lithium Battery

Though most lithium batteries are a fully regulated hazardous material or dangerous good, subject to full regulation under the applicable agency:  PHMSA/USDOT, IATA, or IMO.  Some "smaller lithium batteries" are subject to an exception from full regulation.  This exception includes the formal training requirement.  See what PHMSA/USDOT and IATA mean by "adequate instruction".

Do you have a question?

Man with Question Mark

You have questions?  I have answers:
Logo of the International Air Transport Association
The transportation of dangerous goods by air - domestic or international - requires compliance with the Dangerous Goods Regulations of the International Air Transport Association (IATA)

Logo of the International Maritime Organization The international transport of dangerous goods by vessel requires compliance with the International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDG Code) of the International Maritime Organization (IMO).

Both of the international regulatory agencies require training for those persons involved in the shipping and packing or otherwise preparation of dangerous for transportation by their respective modes.
I can provide this training!
