Who are Your "Facility Personnel"?

 

A deceptively simple question since EPA requires you to train your Facility Personnel annually on their responsibilities under the regulations of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (the hazardous waste regulations).  Read here to begin identifying who you need to train.

What is a Sludge?  The EPA Definition

 

Not as easy as you might think.  The term "sludge" as used in the hazardous waste regulations of the EPA refers to its point of generation (ie. the source) and not its physical characteristics (ie. water content).  Read here to learn if you generate a sludge.

Three Options for Management of Spent Lead Acid Batteries

 

If you have lead acid batteries for disposal, you need to be aware of the three management options available to you:  (1) As hazardous waste, (2) As Universal Waste, or (3) Pursuant to 40 CFR 266, Subpart G; or your State version of this regulation.
