Greetings!
In addition to my regular training, I'm looking forward to two speaking engagements in the month of April. The first is the Michigan Safety Conference on April 17 & 18th in Grand Rapids, MI. I'll be speaking twice on the 18th about the hazardous waste regulations for generators in Michigan and the HazMat Employee training requirements, respectively. Then, I'll be speaking on the 26th & 27th at the Iowa/Illinois Safety Conference Expo (runs from April 25 to 27th in Dubuque, IA). There I'll be talking on the same topics, only with an IA/IL beat. It'd be great to see you there; you can let me know if my newsletter is useful to you, or if it's the electronic equivalent of bird cage liner. |

Driver Training Requirements of the US DOT
If your company transports a hazardous material in commerce as a carrier, you must know the applicable training requirements for your drivers. The bad news? As HazMat Employees they must receive triennial training. The good news? Maintenance of a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) will likely meet the remaining training requirements of 49 CFR 177.816. Read here to confirm you are in compliance or share it with your HazMat Carrier.

When Does the Date of Accumulation Begin for Hazardous Waste?
The answer to this question is not always straightforward. If a sample of a waste material has been submitted to a lab for analysis, it may be weeks before a complete hazardous waste determination can be made. What's to be done in that time? Read here for your answer. And tell the lab to hurry it up!

What is Daniels Training Services?
Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Dan Stoehr and just over a year ago I left a good job to start my own business - this business. My goal is to provide high quality training in the areas of hazardous material transportation and hazardous waste management. If you generate a hazardous waste, and therefore require training per 40 CFR 265.16, you will also need training for your HazMat Employees per 49 CFR 172, Subpart H. My training combines both of these in one day. If you like my newsletter, you'll love my training.
