Daniels Training Services

February 2012 - Volume 1

Greetings!

I am very excited to present to you the first bi-monthly newsletter for Daniels Training Services.  Ironically, I have two reasons for the bifurcation:
  1. The volume of articles I'm writing was getting too large for one newsletter per month.
  2. A more frequent publication allows for more timely articles, such as the one in this issue about the upcoming due date for the Biennial Hazardous Waste Report.

Another difference in this issue is that my articles are now posted on WordPress as a blog.  This allows you more opportunities for comments and questions (always welcome) and sharing them with others (always appreciated).

I continue to enjoy learning about the regulations and providing training for DOT HazMat Employees and EPA Hazardous Waste Personnel.

What is the structure of the CFR?Code of Federal Regulations

If you are reading this newsletter, then you are familiar with the CFR.  But are you really "familiar" with it?  Do you know how it is organized and where you can access an online version of it for free?  A better understanding of how it is organized will help you to find the regulation you need.  More...

Here is something you need to know right now.  If you generate a hazardous waste, you must know your responsibilities for completing and submitting this Report to the US EPA or your state environmental agency.  More...

What makes a waste Ignitable?Match with Flame

You may think you know everything you need to know about D001 Ignitable hazardous waste, but I am confident that you will learn something new about this ubiquitous hazardous waste by reading this article.  More...

USEPA LogoWhat does "transparency" mean to you?

In the interests of public transparency, the US EPA has striven to make data and information available to the public.  I believe this is a good thing for everyone, but if you are a member of the regulated community, you should know what information on your compliance status, including violations and fines, is being made available to the public.  More...

The exception from the use of the technical name for lab pack shipments of hazardous waste.

To be honest, if you don't ship - or intend to ship - hazardous waste in lab packs, you probably don't need to read this article.  If you do, then you definitely should read this article.  More...

What is Daniels Training Services?

Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Dan Stoehr and just over a year ago I left a good job to start my own business - this business.  My goal is to provide high quality training on the complementary topics of hazardous material transportation and hazardous waste management.  I say 'complementary' because if a company generates a hazardous waste, and therefore needs training per 40 CFR 265.16, it also will need training for its HazMat Employees per 49 CFR 172, Subpart H.  My training combines both of these in one day.  If you like my newsletter, you'll love my training.

Close up Answering Question with Placard

If you wish to continue to receive my, now bi-monthly, newsletter, but don't want to continue to receive any notices of when I'm coming to your area, or of discount rates on training, please contact me and I will gladly change your subscription to where you only receive my newsletter.
As well, please encourage others to subscribe to this newsletter if you think they will benefit from it.  If they explain their wishes to me in an email I will subscribe them to the newsletter only.
I look forward to hearing from you soon.
