OLP Volunteers

OLP school is proud of our partnership with parents and friends to promote your child's education and safety.

We are grateful for the many hours donated from parents and friends in our school community.

In order to volunteer in the school, the cafeteria, or a FSA activity, the following paperwork is required.  The good news is that the clearances are free and can be completed online.  Just click on the links below.

Save Around Erie Coupon Book Sale
OLP will be participating in the Save Around Erie Coupon Books Sale again this year. The sale will begin August 31, 2016.  As a reminder, our school profits 50% of all proceeds from this fundraiser. So please save all ordering from an OLP student.   In addition, if your 8th grader is in need of service hours, we certainly could use their help with labeling and stuffing envelopes. Summer Reading
Once again we are happy to have a summer reading contest here at OLP.

The goal is to read as much as you can during your summer break. We want you to ENJOY the reading - but yet reward you for doing such a great job.

*If you read 15 books you will receive a dress down day 
 (chosen by Ms. Ek).
*If the school collectively reads 1500 books everyone will receive an ice cream treat.
*The top reader in each class will receive a free book from our book fair in November.

So get to reading and ENJOY your summer.

Girls' JV Basketball
The Girls' JV Basketball team is conducting open gyms during the summer.  Any girl going into 5th or 6th grade at OLP who would like to try out for the team is encouraged to attend.  The Open gyms started in June and will continue through July and into early August, when tryouts will be held.  The open gyms give the coaches a chance to get to know the girls and give the girls a chance to decide if they want to try out.  If you have any questions, please contact head coach John Nawrocki at 566-8315 or john.nawrocki@pharmerica.com. Cross Country Summer Conditioning

We will begin summer conditioning for children in Grades 5-8 only starting Tuesday July 5th at Brown's Farm from 5:00-6:15 pm and Thursday July 7th at Frontier Park from 8:30-9:30am. Throughout the month of July we will continue with these days and times. 

These sessions are intended to start the process of developing a strong foundation for the cross country season. We highly encourage you to try and attend these sessions as much as possible. We will be providing a week to week training program as well so that way if you are unable to attend practices you can simply run on your own those days. 

Looking ahead, our practices during the school year will be after school which will allow for all athletes to participate in other sports that might otherwise take place in the evening. Cross country is a great sport that helps to compliment many other activities so if you aren't sure if you can fit it in I bet you can. 

Therefore, if your child would like to participate in cross country please send an email to Stacey Constable. My email address is smconstable2@gmail.com Please provide your child's name and grade along with your cell phone number. If practices are cancelled due to bad weather a text message will be sent to everyone.
