Happy New Year!
Inclement Weather Guidelines for OLP
Winter has finally arrived in Erie.  Please review the Inclement weather policy for Millcreek Schools that OLP will follow.

Millcreek Catholic Elementary Schools will follow the decision of the Millcreek Public School District.

There will NOT be an additional announcement for the Parochial/Catholic Elementary Schools. If the Millcreeck Public Elementary Schools are closed, then the Millcreek Catholic Elementary Schools are closed. The same procedure will be followed for school delays.

If there is a school delay, then
the OLP extended Care Program will operate on its normal schedule for students already signed up for this program.

There will be NO AM Preschool Class.

The OLP PEP Program will also be on a 2-Hour Delay.

Schools will be closed only in the event of a declared city-wide emergency or if prevailing weather conditions are considered so severe as to place children en route to schools in a clearly dangerous or unhealthy situation. These conditions include the following:

- impassable streets and/or sidewalks

- Extreme cold temperatures and/or gale-like winds

The three TV channels will announce the closing or delay of schools during the 6:00a.m. news. Radio stations will also announce the delays and closings.

8th Graders & Parents
High school is just around the corner!  Here is some information to help you along the way.

First Reconciliation
Attention second grade parents: the parent/guardian meeting for children preparing to celebrate First Reconciliation will be on Sunday, January 10, 2016, at 5:30 PM in the church.

This is a very special year for your child. They will experience the healing power of God's love and forgiveness through the sacrament of Reconciliation. As parents, you are your child's first and foremost teacher of the faith, so it is important that at least one parent or guardian of the child celebrating the sacrament of Reconciliation attend this meeting.

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please contact me at 814-838-9983, or email me at tammie.mang@olp.org

First Communion
Attention Parents and Guardians of our Third Graders,
on Sunday, January 17, 2016, the parent/guardian meeting for First Communion will take place in the church at 5:30 p.m. At this meeting you will choose the date of your child's First Holy Communion. This is not first come first served, everyone gets the date they choose. You will also select the pew your family will occupy at First Communion Mass.

The two dates for First Holy Communion are Sunday, April 24th and Sunday, May 1st at the 11:00 a.m. Masses.

The celebration of this sacrament is shared by both our Religious Education and OLP School students together as a community.
Your commitment to your child's faith formation as well as your presence at this gathering is greatly appreciated. Remember-As Pope John Paul II stated- parents are the first and foremost educators of the faith.

God Bless,
Tammie Mang
Faith Formation Director

Brought to you by Bedtime Math (bedtime math.org), Crazy 8s is a recreational after-school math club that helps kids enjoy the math behind their favorite activities.
