Dismissal Safety
The staff of OLP, with the help of parish volunteers, works hard to make arrival and dismissal safer for everyone.
If your child is a car rider, please help us promote safety by remembering to follow these rules in the afternoon.
  • You must park in a lined parking space.
  • You must walk up to the coned area if front of the main entrance of the building and pick up your child.
  • Children are not permitted to leave the coned area without an adult to accompany them.
  • If you do not go directly to your car, please make sure that your child remains with you.
Your help in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Cafeteria Helpers

Mothers, fathers, grandparents, friends, please remember to check the school lunch calendar (link on the left side of the newsletter) for the day(s) you are assigned to help in the cafeteria.  Arrival time is 10:30a.m. and finish at approximately 1:00p.m.

If there is a problem with the day(s) you are scheduled, please call the school at (814)838-3548 and let the cafeteria know.  We will be happy to try to accommodate you.

LAST CALL FOR P.L.A.Y. Basketball Sign-ups
2015-2016 P.L.A.Y Basketball-"Participate & Learn At the YMCA"

P.L.A.Y. is an 9 week + playoffs youth basketball league for boys grades 1st - 4th and girls grades 1st through 6th, associated with the parochial parishes. This is a great opportunity to introduce your children to basketball fundamentals while allowing them to experience healthy competition in a safe and fun environment.
P.L.A.Y teams are co-ed in first & second grade. Third and fourth grade teams are separate. This year 3rd - 4th grade teams will phase into competitive play to prepare kids for JV teams. All games will be held at the Downtown YMCA beginning the weekend of 1/8/2016 and will have a referee and scorekeeper. Playoff games are held at the Erie Insurance Arena. The league fee is $50.00/participant and all players will receive a uniform t-shirt.  Please complete the attached form (both sides) and return to the school office by Wednesday, October 21st so our coaches can organize teams & communicate the practice schedule. Most practices will be held at Church of the Cross and will begin around November 1st.

Calling All Coaches:
This program does not work without the help of our parent coaches. There is a block on the form to fill out if you can volunteer. Just include that information on the form. We will hold a coach's meeting the week of October 26th to review rules and create our teams.

Advent Wreath Lighting
The lighting of the Advent wreath is a long-standing Catholic tradition. The candles remind us that although we are journeying to the darkest nights of the year, Jesus has brought light and life into the darkness.
Our tradition here at OLP has included offering all families the opportunity to assist with the wreath lighting during the weekend Masses throughout Advent. We will be continuing that tradition this year and invite you to prayerfully consider volunteering.
Sign-up sheets will be in the vestibule from Saturday, October 31, 2015, through Sunday, November 22, 2015.
The candle lighting is a very simple, yet significant, part of our Advent journey. Please consider being a part of this OLP tradition.

Casino Night
Save the Date
