Our Lady of Peace School is looking for 3 more businesses to each sponsor a page in the Our Lady of Peace School 2015-2016 calendar. This is a fantastic way to let nearly 600 school and parish families know you support our mission and also showcase your business.

The cost per advertisement is $250. You may select your month preference on a first come first serve basis. June, July, and August are still available. OLP 2015-2016 P.I.E. Night

Parent Informational Evening for the 2015-2016 school year will be Wednesday, September 2, 2015, at 7:00p.m. Doors open at 6:30p.m. for sign in and sign ups. There will be an 8th grade parent meeting at 6:15p.m.

Scouts

The Cub Scouts of Pack 59 are looking for some fun boys (Grades 1-5) to join them!!!

Cubs do awesome things like field trips, hikes, attend local sporting events (they even get to stay in the arena or field and camp out overnight), learn about good citizenship, march in parades, have holiday parties, and in the spring they hold a 'small' event that you may have heard of -The Pinewood Derby!
Boys from any school may join us! We have Cub Scouts from OLP, Blessed Sacrament, St. George's, Grover Cleveland, Harding and Montessori. Have your son join with a friend!

Pack Leaders will be at PIE Night on Sept. 2nd to answer questions.

The official sign up night is Wed. Sept 9th 6-8 PM at the Scout House in front of the school.

Our first Pack Meeting of the year is Wed. Sept. 16th at 6:30 PM in the OLP School Cafeteria.

Awards: Medallions will be awarded to first place finishers in the following age groups for both male and female: 10 &
under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & over. Second and third place winners in the above age groups will receive awards as well. There will be no duplication of awards.

Post-Race Refreshments: There will be refreshments available following the race in the Erie Runners Club Pavilion.

Athletic Board

The OLP Athletic Board currently has open seats for its general membership and are setting up interviews for interested candidates. Candidates must be a parent or guardian of a student attending Our Lady of Peace School and should be available to attend the monthly meeting held the first Tuesday of every month. The athletic board's mission is to broaden and enhance the education experience of our students in the Catholic Tradition by supporting their interests in athletics and in preparing the students for future participation in organized sports, while maintaining good sportsmanship.

Varsity Football

The OLP Athletics Board has opened up Varsity Football to CCD boys. Any boys in 7th or 8th grade enrolled in OLP CCD interested in playing football, please come to the OLP soccer field Monday through Thursday to talk to the football coaches.

Boys' JV Basketball

Hello Crusaders! My name is Dave Hilditch and I'm the new OLP JV Boys Basketball coach. I'm extremely excited to have this opportunity and look forward to working with the boys in the fall. My family and I are also very happy to be a part of the OLP family. I wanted to make everyone aware of some upcoming Open Gym sessions that will occur over the next 2 months. I would like to encourage any boy going into the 5^th or 6^th grade to come out and play. This would be a great opportunity to have the boys play together and get some summer court time. Also, since I'm new to OLP, it would give me a chance to meet the upcoming JV hoops prospects. Participation for these sessions are voluntary and will have no bearing on roster selection in the fall.

All sessions will be held on Thursdays from 7:30-9:00pm on August 20, 2015.

Cross Country Summer Conditioning Schedule for August

Athletes in Grades 5th-8th only

Monday 4:30-5:30 pm Frontier Park

Wednesday 4:30-5:30 pm Browns Farm

Friday 9:00-10:00 am Frontier Park

Fun Runners (Grades 1-4 only)

Anyone in grades 1st thru 4th interested in participating in cross

country is encouraged to join us on August 10th from 5:30-6:30 at

Frontier Park across from Romolo's for our first Fun Runners practice.

We will practice every Monday and Wednesday 5:30-6:30 til school starts.

Mondays will be at Frontier Park and Wednesdays will be at Browns Farm.

Once school begins, our practices will be primarily at OLP.

If there are any parents interested in helping or if you have any

questions please send a message to Stacey Constable at

smconstable2@gmail.com. This is typically quite a very large group of children so any extra help is greatly appreciated.

Spirit Song

SpiritSong Youth Choir wants you!

Youth from grades 5^th to 12^th who like to sing are needed to participate in OLP's music ministry.

SpiritSong is a great opportunity for your child to learn about music in the Mass, cantoring, proper singing techniques as well as making new friends and having fun at the same time!

You are invited to our first rehearsal

on September 9^th in the church to try us out!

SpiritSong leads music at the Saturday 5:00pm Mass twice per month, and rehearses on Wednesdays from 5:15 to 6:30pm.
