Athletics
The next Athletic Board meeting will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2015, at 7:00p.m. in the school Cafeteria.  This is an OPEN meeting.

Good Luck to our P.L.A.Y. Basketball teams!

This weekend our school has 5 teams competing in the PLAY Basketball Playoffs!

Through hard work and great coaching, OLP has advanced more teams than any other school in the diocese!

These 5 teams will compete on the main court at Erie Insurance Arena Saturday morning and we wish them all the best of luck!

GO CRUSADERS!

Soccer Coaches Needed

Currently, we are looking to fill the JV Boys Soccer head coach position and the Varsity Girls head coach position,  available immediately.  It is rather urgent to fill both positions ASAP as the spring soccer season is right around the corner.

All interested applicants may contact Vinnie Padalino at (814) 602-6125, or by email at vpadalino@eriesd.org.

P.L.A.Y. Soccer

P.L.A.Y (Participate & Learn at the YMCA) is a series of athletic programs run through downtown YMCA for boys and girls Grades 1-4.  Teams are registered as school-parish based teams.  Most recently OLP had 57 children (7 teams) participate in the PLAY Basketball league.  Due to its wild success the YMCA wishes to expand this to a PLAY Soccer league planned to start mid-late March and end just prior to Memorial Day.  We need an OLP parent volunteer to act as the OLP PLAY Soccer coordinator.  If interested please contact the downtown YMCA at:

Monica J Olesnanik

Program Director

YMCA of Greater Erie

Downtown YMCA & The Y @ UPMC Hamot

300 State St., Suite 107

(814) 877-3716

molesnanik@ymcaerie.org

Questions?  You can contact OLP PLAY Basketball coordinator Stephanie Spence (572-3972) on the required duties of a PLAY coordinator position.  If there is not a coordinator then it is expected that OLP would not participate.

Youth from grades 5th to 12th who like to sing are needed to participate in OLP's music ministry.

You are invited to just "show up" for any

scheduled rehearsal and try us out!

SpiritSong leads music at the Saturday 5:00pm Mass twice per month,

and rehearses on Wednesdays from 5:15 to 6:30pm.

Photo of the Week
         Congratulations Evan!

For the second time in 6 years, Evan Selker earned the honor of being a Pennsylvania Junior Wrestling Area 8 Champion at 157lbs!  He earned this honor by posting a 18-0 win in his first match Saturday and a win by PIN during Saturday's tournament at Harborcreek High School.  He only had to wrestle twice at the event Saturday because is 31-5 record this season earned him a #1 seed position in the competition.

What's next?  Evan will be traveling Friday, February 27, 2015, to Hershey, PA  where he will face 40 other wrestlers from PA who had similar success.  Two years ago Evan took 6th place in PA!

Way to go Evan! Good luck this weekend!  We are OLProud of you!
