8th Grade Students Earn Top Ranks

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

It is my pleasure to inform you that four of our current eighth graders have been offered tuition scholarships to Cathedral Preparatory School and Villa Maria Academy.

Alexander Kolodychak placed in the top five and was offered a $1000 tuition scholarship from Cathedral Prep.

Molly Welton also placed in the top five and was offered a $1000 tuition scholarship from Villa. Michaelena Siggia and Sara Kloecker-Huber also placed in the top ten and were offered $500 tuition scholarships for their efforts on the Villa entrance exam.

This is an outstanding achievement for these students. Over 140 eight grade girls and nearly 200 eighth grade boys from different parochial, public and private schools sat for these exams.

We are very proud of these Crusaders!

Masses at OLP

January 24 and 25, 2015

We know that you are busy as the Christmas season approaches. However, we want to give you plenty of time to begin planning for Catholic Schools Week (CSW). CSW is a great opportunity for us to show pride in Catholic Education to the parish family.

Our celebration of CSW begins with celebrating Liturgy together the weekend of January 24 & 25, 2015. This year's theme is Catholic Schools: Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service.

Click here for the signup sheet for each mass, due by December 15, 2014. We will need volunteers to process down the aisle with a banner, readers, altar servers and gift bearers. We will also need families to serve as greeters prior to Mass and to hand out bulletins after Mass. Please check the time that your family will be able to help with our Liturgy. Please indicate whether you or your child would like to be a reader or "other."

We ask that all students involved in the Masses wear his/her school uniform and is present 15 minutes before Mass begins.

FSA

On behalf of the entire FSA, we would like to thank those who have worked so hard on our recent Christmas events and activities. We would like to recognize Heather Szymczak for a successful Santa Shop. We would also like to thank Jill Nolan and Jennifer Lata for doing such a great job on a fun-filled Lunch with Santa.

Thank you to all the volunteers who assisted with making these events memorable for our children. We wish the entire Our Lady of Peace family a blessed Christmas and Happy New Year!

Sunday, December 7, 2014, our novice wrestlers had their first tournament. Nico Grack, Kory Webber, Brendan Lynch, and

Jacob Esser wrestled in the St. George Novice tournament and had several wins among them. They all had some tough matches but performed very well. Congrats Boys!

Girl Scouts

All OLP Girl Scouts

Our annual Christmas Party for all of our OLP Girl Scout Troops will be on Saturday, December 20, 2014, from 9:00a.m.-11:00a.m. in the OLP Cafeteria.
