TENNIS NEWS
Tennis is a fall sport that starts very early in the school year.  In an attempt to get a head start and get things moving early, we will have an interest sign up sheet in school for students that will be in 5-8th grade next year.  It is not a commitment or the only sign up for to get an idea of interest and contact information.  Students... please look for the sign up sheet in the class rooms!!

Summer Conditioning
Coach DeMarco's summer conditioning will begin Thursday, June 12th.  This is open for students entering 5th-8th grades for the 2014-15 school year.  Contact Coach DeMarco at:   demarco.johna@gmail.com for further details.

Race In Peace is back!  " Runners get Ready, Saturday , August 16 at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, a cross country race! Track and Field Results
Congratulations to all who participated in Behrend College's Little Lion Classic Track Meet held on May 8th.  We have all of the final results and once again OLP was well represented in the meet of nearly 200 students from 1-8th grade
1st and 2nd Grade :
Nick Kupniewski and Colin Troutman participated in a relay with athletes from another school.  The team was not officially registered and therefore was not formally recognized with a medal but they finished the 4x100 relay in 1st place!!  
Other awards:
Nick Kupniewski : 3rd  in 100meter dash, 1st in long jump
Colin Troutman: 5th  in 400 meter run, 2nd  in the shot put
Jillian Soder: 2nd  in 4x100 relay, 2nd  in 100 meter dash, 3rd in 200meter, 6th in long jump

Please be aware that the MAY 2014 page of the OLP ALL SCHOOL CALENDAR that went out at PIE night is incorrect.  There was a miscommunication between OLP and the printer.

Attention 8th Grade Parents
Bishop Persico mandates that students must attend a Catholic High School or Religious Education classes for both 9th and 10th grade in order to be part of the Confirmation Formation classes in 11th grade.  Registration forms will be sent home with those students not attending a Catholic High School next year.  Forms also can be found at olp.org under the Faith Formation tab.  If you have any questions please contact Tammie Mang at 838-9983 or tammie.mang@olp.org.

 

7th & 8th Grade Youth Group
Cedar Point Trip for Youth Group

The Junior High Youth Group's end of year trip to Cedar Point is scheduled for Wednesday, June 11, 2014. In order for students to attend, they MUST have completed the requirements agreed upon at the beginning of the school year. These are: 2 service AND 2 spiritual activities, along with donation to the bake sale fundraiser. ONLY youth group students who have fulfilled these requirements will be permitted on the Cedar Point trip.

If your student will be attending, please print out the attached release form. This will need completed and returned along with the $35.00 fee (checks made out to OLP Jr. High Youth Group) to Brenda Barto via Trevor Barto in 8B, NO LATER THAN JUNE 2, 2014. This fee includes transportation, admission to the park and a drink wrist band that can be used all day in the park.

We will meet in the OLP School parking lot that morning at 7:00am, as the bus will depart at 7:30 sharp for Cedar Point. At the end of our day, we will meet 7:30pm to depart the park for our return home at 8:00 sharp, expecting to arrive home around 11:00pm back in the OLP parking lot.

Please send along food money and snacks or drinks for the bus ride if you wish. If your child has a cell phone number, please write it in at the top of the release form.

Cub Scout Day Camp
For any boy registered in the Cub Scout Program in the Oliver Perry District.

 

I'd like to invite your son/grandson to join us this coming June 17-20 for Cub Scout Day Camp. Our theme this year is the Wild West. Boys will get to experience everything from learning about nature to archery and bb guns (the safe and appropriate use, of course).

Gluten Free Graduation Cakes
  My name is Shelley Pawlowski and I have celiac disease.  I know how hard it is for those who are trying to eat gluten free. Not many bakeries offer gluten free products.  If they do one can never be too sure if there is cross contamination.  I bake and decorate gluten free cakes.  I do not use ANY glutenous flours in my kitchen.  If anyone is interested in ordering a Gluten Free graduation cake they can contact me at violaplayinghobbit@yahoo.com  or by telephone 814-455-5629.
