The Safe and Caring theme for April is

Making good choices is an important and essential skill for students to learn.  Today's youth are constantly challenged and tempted. They have more opportunities to get into trouble than ever before. To thrive, they need to be taught to be responsible for their actions and to make the right choices.

Graduation is only two and a half months away! 
Individual Committees have been meeting and working hard on their individual tasks and we are well under way with the preparations for the Class of 2014's graduation from Our Lady of Peace School!  
 
 
  

 

OLP FSA
The Family School Association (FSA) is looking for OLP parents interested in being a part of the wonderful events and fundraising being held for the children during the 2014-2015 school year.  We have a few board and chair positions open, or you could just volunteer your time in general to help make the year a great one for the students.

The John P. Tramontano Jr. Fondation provides scholarships to students in grades kindergarten through eighth grade so they can attend a school of their choice.

Advertising Opportunity

There are a few months open for parents/businesses to purchase an ad for the 2014/2015 OLP School Calendar; which is distributed to all school families at the beginning of each school year. The cost of $250 includes your child/rens' photo  and a 2" x 3.5" advertisement on your selected months page. You may share the page with other OLP families if your children would like photos taken with their friends.

 

If you are interested , please contact Ashley Caldwell at 838-3548 or  acaldwell@olpcrusaders.org to purchase your advertisement. Due to a limited amount of space, this is a first come first served opportunity.

 TRACK AND FIELD

 Diocese Track and Field Competition
Thursday, May 15, 2014.

  Calling out to all those still interested in TRACK AND FIELD

 

The Diocese Track and Field meet is scheduled for THURSDAY, MAY 15, 2014.  An additional track meet is in the process of being planned and will be held on THURSDAY, MAY 8, 2014, at Behrend. More information will be coming on both of those events. 

 

It is a great way to try out something new and have fun along the way!!  We had a great first practice on Sunday and looking forward to more!   It is not to late to join but the season is quick.....so IF YOU ARE INTERESTED ACT NOW......Contact Cheryl DiPietro by at cheryl_dipietro@yahoo.com or call at 323-0806 for schedules and necessary forms.  Deadline for forms is Monday, April 28, 2014.

 7th grade student athletes, only and 8th grade student athletes and their immediate families are invited to this annual event. Invitations have been sent home for both grades and Sport participation forms have been issued to the 8th graders. Please pay special attention to the "due by dates" for each so that preparations can be underway for this special evening. We are also asking for volunteers from the 7th grade parents or older siblings (service hours) to help the evening with setup/serving and cleanup. Questions can be directed to Craig Moffatt, Athletic Director at Moffatt@roadrunner.com

2nd "Music Meets Art"

Community Art Show!

 

 

World of Music is sponsoring an art show to celebrate the influence of art and music in our community and raise funds for the ANNA Shelter.  The theme is "Music Meets Art."  Each entry submission fee is $10. College for Kids is a summer enrichment program that offers a diverse selection of one week, age-appropriate classes for children and teenagers from 6 through 16 years of age.

Grades 5 & 6 Celebrate Seder Meal
 
 The fifth and sixth grade students and teachers celebrated Seder Meal this morning with Fr. David and Miss Ek.  This OLP tradition commemorates Israel's freedom from the slavery of Egypt and prefiguring the Christian meal of freedom, the Eucharist.
