Save and Caring Schools

The Safe and Caring theme for April is

"The Power to Choose"

Making good choices is an important and essential skill for students to learn.  Today's youth are constantly challenged and tempted. They have more opportunities to get into trouble than ever before. To thrive, they need to be taught to be responsible for their actions and to make the right choices.

Zip up for Isaac

On behalf of Baby Isaac Ohmer and his parents, we would like to thank the Our Lady of Peace parish and school families for the overwhelming support in Isaac's bowling benefit.  Whether you said a prayer, donated funds, time or items for the event, or attended the bowling event, we sincerely thank you!  We are truly blessed for the support.  We ask for your continued prayers for Isaac on his continued journey.  He was accepted by the transplant board and was placed on the transplant list on Friday April 4, 2014.   We ask for prayers for Isaac, his parents, the medical team, and for the family of the future donor, as they decide to give life as they face their own challenges.
Thank you!

Carol Ohmer, Michelle Ohmer and Cheryl DiPietro

7th grade student athletes, only and 8th grade student athletes and their immediate families are invited to this annual event. Invitations have been sent home for both grades and Sport participation forms have been issued to the 8th graders. Please pay special attention to the "due by dates" for each so that preparations can be underway for this special evening. Questions can be directed to Craig Moffatt, Athletic Director at Moffatt@roadrunner.com

Girl Scouts

Father-Daughter Bowling was a great success!
K-2 grade OLP Girl Scouts enjoyed an evening of bowling with their fathers this past weekend. And not only did they enjoy pizza, cupcakes but also funny bowling challenges like "bowl backwards" and "walk like a duck". We also collected a hefty amount of mens toiletries that we have donated to the Erie City Mission's mens shelter.

PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS: 1st Grade Daisy Bridging Ceremony will be Wednesday, May 14 at 6:30pm at Asbury Elementary with our Millcreek Service Unit. Please mark your calendars.

OLProud of our Alumni

Two of our OLP Alumni (class of 2011) were recently honored at a Rotary Club luncheon.   Emily Abramczyk and David Albrecht, were two of 6 Juniors in the area awarded the "Service above Self" award.  This award is given to Juniors who were nominated by their schools for their service to the community and academic achievement.  We are extremely proud of them both!

7th & 8th Grade Youth Group
Youth Group Students - Don't forget that attending any Friday evening stations of the cross here at OLP gets you credit for one spiritual event. They will continue to be every Friday evening at 7:00. Please have a parent let me now if  you will be attending or have attended one this year.
