OLP Christmas Musical
All are welcome as the first, second, and third grade students of Our Lady of Peace School present "The Little Bell That Could Not Ring" on Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at 10:00a.m. and Thursday, December 12, 2013, at 7:00p.m.  Both performances are in the OLP gym.

The show follows the story of Little Bell, who is having difficulty making beautiful music.  Her fellow bells are less than patient but work through their frustrations and learn a lesson about how to treat others who are different from them.

Caring Tree

We are blessed to be in a Catholic school and to share our catholic values, beliefs and gifts. This Christmas season we reach out to members of the OLP School and sponsor a Caring Tree for our own families.

The Caring Tree was placed in the main lobby of the school and was decorated with Doves which had the items that are needed by our families. If you took one of the Doves to purchase a gift, please return the wrapped items to Miss Ek's office by this Friday, December 13, 2013, with the tag attached to the items.  Thank you for your continued support and generosity!

If you have questions regarding purchasing gifts, please contact Michelle Bruschi email psu22michelle@aol.com or via cell phone

814-323-1779.

Daffin's Candy Payments

It would be greatly appreciated if all candy money could be turned into the school office no later than Tomorrow, Wednesday, December 11, 2013. Please make sure all checks are made payable to "Our Lady of Peace School" and that your envelope is labeled with your child's name and homeroom grade.

Caring Crusaders

The Safe and Caring Schools theme for December is "Respect Yourself and Others."

Belonging to a community means getting along with others and knowing what others expect of you. It is important for our children to understand that as active participants of our school community they help create a safe and caring community.

Students will

  • learn specific ways to be responsible members of our school community
  • practice using manners to show respect

Congratulations to the CARING CRUSADERS winners for December!

OLP Family Christmas Tree

Make sure your family ornament is part of our tree!

The OLP Environment Committee invites you to participate in the creation of the OLP Family Christmas Tree.   We will be decorating a tree in the church vestibule for the Christmas season with home-made bells, stars, and Christmas balls.  Your ornament will represent your family so we encourage you to include a family photo/photos, your family name, or a special drawing of your family on your ornament.  Be creative!

A simple instruction sheet and ornament patterns are available on the church website, www.olp.org. Just click on the Christmas tree icon on the home page for all the details.   If you do not have access to the internet, there are a limited number of instruction sheets and patterns available in the church vestibule. There are also sample ornaments on the display in the vestibule for inspiration.

Drop off your finished ornament in the basket provided in the church vestibule by Sunday, December 22nd.

Every OLP family, whether one member or many members, is invited to contribute a home-made ornament to help create a beautiful and meaningful family Christmas tree! If you have any questions, please contact Brian Kuzmin, Director of Liturgy and Music, at brian.kuzmin@olp.org or through the church office at 833-7701.

Our tree will not be complete without you!
