Caring Tree - Ready and waiting

We are blessed to be in a Catholic school and to share our catholic values, beliefs and gifts. This Christmas season we want to reach out to members of the OLP School and sponsor a Caring Tree for our own families.

If you have experienced financial challenges, we want to assist you. This will be totally confidential and handled through the Principal, Miss Mary Beth Ek. No one other than the Principal will be made aware of any of the names of families and/or children. If you are a family in need, please contact Miss Ek via email at mbek@olpcrusaders.org or by sending a note into school in a sealed envelope with her name on it. We want to help you with the essentials this holiday season: a Christmas meal, clothing, coats, hats, scarves, etc. Please let us know the gender and ages of members of your family and items needed.

A tree will be placed in the main lobby of the school from Monday, November 18th through December 9th. The tree will be decorated with Doves which have the items that are needed by our families. Please take one of the Doves and purchase and return the wrapped items to Miss Ek's office by December 13th with the tag attached to the items.

Gifts will be distributed through the church office December 16th-20th   (in confidentiality). If you have any questions about being a recipient family, please contact Miss Ek.   If you have questions regarding purchasing gifts, please contact Michelle Bruschi email psu22michelle@aol.com or via cell phone 814-323-1779.

First Grade Daisy Scouts
Congrats girls! We sold $947 in Magazines, Nuts and Candy! We're on our way to earning enough for our spring overnight trip to the Niagara Aquarium! And get ready, cookie sales start in January!

Don't forget we have our Millcreek-wide Sing Along tonight at 6:30p.m. at the Church of the Cross. We'll get our own troop song book as well as fun patches! Please wear your Daisy uniforms and bring either canned corn, peas, or beans for the Erie City Mission Thanksgiving baskets.

Our next troop meeting is this Thursday, November 14, 2013. Please be sure to send a note with your daughter excusing her to the car line to walk with Mrs. Poff to the scout house.

Save the Date: We will be visiting St. Mary's West on Monday, December 2, 2013, at 1:30p.m. to do a Christmas craft with the residents and discuss what we learned when earning our new religious award, "My Faith, My Promise."  Following the crafts we will sing carols and enjoy punch and cookies. Watch for a handout this week.

As always, our troop blog is packed with resources, information, and calendar so please be sure to visit it often. http://olpgirlscouts36727.wordpress.com/
