I have some very exciting news - besides the 2nd Grade Brownie Troop, we are adding Kindergarten Daisies to our troop! Even though we will be under one Troop umbrella and meeting at the same time, we will be hosting separate meeting areas. This is something new and exciting that we are going try, and it should be a lot of fun. To that end, we have some important upcoming dates for you:

REGISTRATION NIGHT: The Girls Scouts are having a Registration Night THIS THURSDAY, September 12th from 6:30pm-8:00pm at the Church of the Cross, 5901 Millfair Road. This will be a great opportunity for you to registration if you haven't signed up your daughter for the 2013-2014 Girl Scout season to do so. Cost is $15.00. Registration has to be done every year in order to keep your daughter current as a Girl Scout.
First Troop 36179 Meeting: Our first Troop meeting will be held on Thursday, September 19th from 6:00-7:30 in the CAFETERIA. Please note the location and time change. This meeting is for both the Kindergarten Daisies and 2nd Grade Brownies A brief parent meeting will happen from 7:15-7:30. For those young ladies in Extended Care, I would be more than happy to sign them out, with a note from you to the program, at 5:30, but you will have to pack them a sandwich for supper as we will just be staying in the Cafeteria to set up (they can do their homework while this is occurring).
Christina, Alyssa, and I are so very excited about this new year, and hope you and your daughter will be too!
I look forward to seeing you on Thursday at the Church of the Cross for Registration AND/OR September 19, 2013, for our first WAHOO Troop 36179 meeting in the Cafeteria at 6:00!!!

Middle School Youth Group (grades 7 & 8)
It is with a heavy heart that I must announce that I can no longer chair the OLP Middle School Youth Group. I am looking for someone to chair the monthly meetings. I will be more than happy to help behind the scenes and have electronic copies of all of the handouts and forms - so that part will be so much easier. If anyone is interested in taking over this greatly worthwhile group, please contact Kathy Roach at kathyroach66@gmail.com.
