Erie Gives is a wonderful opportunity for your donation to Our Lady of Peace Parish & School to do even more good.
On Tuesday, August 13, 2013 between 8:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. EST a percentage match of your donation will expand your contribution to support OLP.
How Erie Gives WorksThe Erie Gives Program started in 2011, and has been a huge success for many non-profit organizations throughout Erie County. Here is how Erie Gives works.
Day and Time: The event takes place on Tuesday, August 13,2013. Donors have a 12 hour window between hours of 8:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. EST to donate to your favorite non-profit organizations (OLP). Gift Amount: The minimum gift is $25.00. There is no limit to the maximum amount you may give. Credit Cards: Only Visa and Mastercard will be accepted. The credit card processor charges a nominal fee per transaction. The Erie Community Foundation does not receive any fees. (Sorry, Visa and Mastercard gift cards will not be acepted.)
Prorated Match: The Erie community Foundation will enhance each donor's gift by providing a prorated match to each gift made to a non-profit. The The Foundation will divide a total of $150,000 ($100,000 provided by The Erie Community Foundation plus an additional $50,000 provided by GE Transportation) among the participating nonprofits. The more a nonprofit raises the more of the $150,000 the nonprofit will receive. Your Receipt: You will receive an email receipt of your gift; please retain it for tax purposes. Unless you choose to remain anonymous, your donor information will be sent to the appropriate organizations. When the Nonprofits receive your donation: The organizations will receive your donation plus The Erie Community Foundation's prorated match within two to four weeks of Erie Gives. PIE Night ~ Mark Your Calendars
The Our Lady of Peace annual PIE Night, Parent Informational Evening, will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2013. Registration at 6:30p.m. and meeting at 7:00p.m. beginning in the OLP Church followed by classroom visits in the school.
The eighth grade parents will meet at 6:15p.m. in the OLP Cafeteria before hand.

Preschool Families
We are planning a Preschool Parent Orientation meeting for all preschool parents on Monday, August 19, 2013 in the Church Social Room. The meeting for the parents in the 3 year old program is from 6:30 -7:15 PM. The meeting for the parents in the 4 year old program is from 7:30-8:15 PM. This meeting will give you a chance to meet me and the Preschool aide, Mrs. Valerio, and to learn important information about the upcoming school year.
Your child will be able to meet Mrs. Valerio and myself on their Visitation Day. This will be an exciting day because you and your child will be able to explore the classroom. You and your child will be assigned a time to visit the Preschool. This will allow for smaller groups to be in the classroom at one time so Mrs. Valerio and I can get to know you better.
You should have received a letter in the mail stating your visitation time. If you did not receive this letter, please contact me at the school (838-3886) or via email, czacherl@olpcrusaders.org.

Athletics ~ Cross Country
 OLP's Cross Country Coach, Coach DeMarco, is organizing our 1st annual OLP Race in Peace. The race will be held at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Saturday August 24, 2013. Registration starts at 8:00a.m. with the first race starting at 9:00a.m. Further information , Registration entry forms and Coach DeMarco's contact info can be found on the schools website by clicking below. Also- There will be a parent meeting for any OLP child interested in joining the OLP cross country team this year. The parent meeting will take place on August 13, 2013 at the OLP gym lobby starting at 7:30p.m. This mtg will be conducted by Coach DeMarco.
