8th Grade Wrap-Up
The success of the 8th Grade Mardis Gras celebration wouldn't have happened if it was for ALL of you - from the awesome t-shirts to the great class picture to the beautiful memory book and DVD to the super fun beach day void of rain! to the fantabulously wonderful decorations to the delicious food, beautiful mass and ceremony and glowishly fun bowling  ... none of this would have happened if it wasn't for you!

I know that our OLP alumn sure enjoyed every aspect of their 8th grade graduation ... tons of memories were made.

If you haven't heard, a Facebook page has been set up to post, share and print pictures of yesterday. Please join the group - OLP 2013 Graduation.

I just wanted to let you know how appreciative I am for all of your hard work and dedication before the day full of memories progressed!!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Cedar Point Youth Group Trip
In 6 days, screams will be heard and hands will be in the air as 53 youth group participants will be enjoying themselves at Cedar Point. Please be at the OLP Gym at 7:00am on Monday, June 10th. The bus will depart no later than 7:30am. The bus will return at 11:00pm. Please note that part of your fee includes an all day drink wristband (yeah!), but please bring money for your lunch, dinner, snacks, Dippin' Dots, souvenirs (I would conservatively say $40.00 as the price of food has increased a bit at Cedar Point). Snacks and drinks will be provided on the bus trip. Also, please make sure to pack sunscreen. Ride note for Gatekeeper - for the best ride experience, you should sit in the back left area!!!!  Have fun:-)

Athletics
6:00  Girls Soccer Championship:  #2 Our Lady of Peace  @  #1 St. George

Wednesday, June 5, 2013 @ Cathedral Prep Events Center  ---- Gates will open at 5:15pm

 Fans and Student Body Seating:

Please remember students and parents what is considered as acceptable behavior at the games.  Please remember to keep cheering as only positive in nature.  There is to be no booing or taunting at anytime during the game.... That includes chants directed at the opposing student body section or team, such as "We can't hear you"  or "NaNaNaNa, NaNaNaNa, Hey, Hey, Hey, Good Bye." Etc...   I understand these chants are often used at high school and college games, however, they have no place in our grade school athletics and they will not be permitted.  The use of artificial noise-makers is also prohibited.

Admissions:

Please remember the admissions prices for the soccer playoffs.

Adults: $3.00

Students: $2.00

Free Books
I would like to pass along a literacy opportunity that can benefit families in Erie County who have children ages birth through five.
United Way announced the arrival of the Dolly Parton Imagination Library in Erie County. This game-changing initiative offers free, high quality, age-appropriate books to children each month from the time they are born until they turn five years old. All children in Erie County, regardless of household income, are eligible for the program.
In collaboration with The Erie Community Foundation and other local partners, United Way is launching this program as part of our work to increase education and help 10,000 more local families become self-sufficient by 2025.

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library will help you read with your child. There are many reasons parents do not read to their child, but we can eliminate one of them. Every child will have books of their very own, at no cost to you, thanks to United Way of Erie County and Dolly Parton.
Each month a new, carefully selected book will be mailed in your child's name directly to your home. He/she can look forward to new and exciting reading adventures from Dolly Parton's Imagination Library until he/she turns five years old as long as you remain a resident of Erie County. Should the child move outside Erie County, he/she automatically exits the program.

The link is:   http://www.unitedwayerie.org/imagination

If a child is enrolled in this program at birth, he/she will receive over 60 books by the time of his/her fifth birthday! And if this child has a sibling that also takes part in the program, even more books can be added to their home library!
