Grief Awareness Day
Hello Caring Team Schools!
Happy fall! We have some very exciting news!  As you may remember, Children's Grief Awareness Day is always the Thursday before Thanksgiving.  Children's Grief Awareness Day began in ERIE five years ago. The fifth anniversary of Children's Grief Awareness Day will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2012.  In order to recognize this day, we are doing something very exciting for our Erie Community and we need your help.
On Saturday, November 10th, in the afternoon at a location to be announced we will be surprising everyone with a FLASH MOB!!  We are asking our Caring Place volunteers, family members and schools to help us with this project.
What do you need to know????

1)      You do not need to know how to dance!  The Flash Mob will be very simple, basic moves choreographed by Erie Native, Brett Fallon, who is currently running Flash Mobs all over town.

2)      We are looking for children at least age 6 - 18 and asking for adults to participate as well.

3)      You must be available for the following practices:  10/15/12, 10/22/12, 10/29/12, and 11/4/12.  We will be providing dinner from 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. prior to the rehearsal.  Practice will be from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m.

4)      You must be available to perform Saturday, November 10th in the afternoon - the location will be announced at the first practice.

5)      This is your opportunity to let others know that grieving children's needs should be recognized and that we are "all in this together."
What if you can't participate in the Flash Mob, but still want to help out in some way?  You can come and support all of us that day on November 10th.
We need your help to make this Flash Mob successful.  We cannot do this without our Caring Place volunteers, families and Caring Team Schools.  Please contact me at 814-871-6938 or jonathan.rilling@highmark.com
by October 11th to let me know if you are willing to help out in any way.  If you have any other ideas of how you can help us, please feel free to call me!
*If your child/children need volunteer hours for school or other group, this is a great opportunity to receive volunteer hours.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Rilling
Marketing & Outreach Specialist
