Greetings!

The Dougherty newsletter  is intended to be for and about the Dougherty Foundation and its student scholars, past and present.

            Calling all Community College Students

The Dougherty Foundation is pleased to offer five (5) scholarships to the 2013 LeaderShape Institute program.  The LeaderShape Institute is an intensive and energizing six-day educational experience unlike any other college leadership development program.  The intent of the LeaderShape program is to improve society by inspiring, developing, and supporting more students committed to lead with integrity.  The Institute is hosted each summer by the Maricopa County Community College District (MCCCD).

This year, the program will be held from May 15 -20, 2013.  Participants stay on campus at ASU-West.  Sixty MCCCD students will interact with ten MCCCD staff, a 2011 LeaderShape graduate and two LeaderShape national facilitators.  A mandatory orientation session will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 2:00 p.m.  - 3:30 p.m. at GateWay Community College.

The five Dougherty LeaderShape scholarships will be processed by Genesis Toole at Phoenix College.  Dougherty recipients at all MCCCD schools are eligible to apply.   The program is free for participants and includes all materials, transportation and a 5-night stay including meals at ASU West campus.

Applications are due by April 15, 2013 and may be found at

            www.phoenixcollege.edu/leadershape

To submit application and for more information, please contact Genesis Toole at Phoenix College (602) 285-7231.

These are special Dougherty scholarships and are NOT limited to PC students as noted on the PC LeaderShape information site.

The Dougherty Foundation thanks SCF Arizona for generously providing funding for three of these scholarships.
