Happy 2011 From JW House
On behalf of JW House, I would like to extend a thank you to each and every individual and organization that donated time and gifts in 2010. Last year was our second full year in operation and our families are extremely grateful for the services we provide because of your support. We held our 2nd Anniversary Celebration in September and had over 300 JW House supporters, volunteers, and previous guests in attendance. At this event, we introduced the student members of the newly formed Bellarmine and Notre Dame High School Sophomore Board. We are excited about this Sophomore Board which meets once a month at JW House to plan fundraisers and other events to benefit JW House. Additionally in 2010, JW House:
- Served over 500 families with our Day Use and Overnight Programs. Our overnight occupancy for JW House in 2010 ran at 95%.

- Provided dinners 5 nights a week to Overnight and Day Use Families thanks to school and community groups, local businesses such as Dream Dinners, Aqui Cal-Mex, China Delight, Tony and Alba's Pizza, and Stuft Pizza, and a grant from the eBay Foundation.
- Thanks to volunteer Ron Ball, we launched our new JW House website.
- Welcomed Andy Kryder as our new Board President. Andy recently retired from NetApp as Senior Vice President of Legal and Tax and has extensive experience in business and non-profit volunteerism--both serving on Boards and by direct volunteerism.
- Our amazing roster of volunteers donated 5573 hours of their time to JW House. Our volunteers are the heart and soul of our operation and we would not be able to serve our families without them. Click here to learn about how to get involved at JW House.

We look forward to having a wonderful 2011 at JW House. Save the date for our Spring Fundraiser on Sunday, June 5 and our 3rd Anniversary Celebration on Friday, September 23. Stay tuned in the coming months for announcements regarding these two events.

JW House's mission is to provide a guest house on hospital grounds where families of patients are welcome to seek overnight or day use respite while being steps away from their family member receiving treatment at local hospitals. Thanks to the support of people like you, we are able to help families facing medical crisis.
On behalf of all of us at JW House, I wish you a healthy and happy 2011.
Warmly,

Jill Mitsch, Executive Director, JW House
