Administrative Information
Reminder: No School Tomorrow & Spring Break

This is a friendly reminder that there is no school (and no Kinderclub) tomorrow, March 25, and that there is no school all of next week. Enjoy your breaks!

Sommercamp Early Registration Discount - Don't Miss Out!

Registrations for TCGIS Sommercamp must be received by next Thursday, March 31, in order to receive the $30 discounted fee. Come join dedicated and talented TCGIS staff for learning through creative play in the German language. Week-long camps run July 11 - 29, 2016.  Morning only OR full-day available. After School Activities Registration Closed

Thank you to all who have signed up for after school activities! The registration period has now closed. Activities will start right away on Monday, April 4, our first day back from spring break.
Join TCGIS at the Immersion Festival on April  9

This year TCGIS will be participating at the Immersion Festival at Minnetonka High School Art Center on April 9 from 9am to 12pm. This is a MAIN (Minnesota Advocates for Immersion Network) sponsored event, featuring different immersion schools in the Twin Cities.TCGIS will be represented by a booth and our wonderful Blumenkranz dancers. We hope to see you there!

District 10 Safety Fair
  
Keeping yourself, your family, your home, our neighbors, and our neighborhood safe is a nonstop project. For the best tips available, drop in April 1 at the Como Family Safety Fair from 5:30-7p.m. at North Dale Community Center, 1414 N. St. Albans. The free event is co-sponsored by the District 10 Como Community Council and Saint Paul Parks and Recreation. More than 20 organizations will share advice on many different topics. There will be food trucks as well!
 
Afterward, join us for a free showing of "Shaun the Sheep." The PG-rated film begins at 7:00 in the North Dale gym. We'll supply popcorn -- bring your own blankets, portable chairs or mats to relax and enjoy the show.

PTO Meeting - April 12, 6:30pm - 8:00pm TCGIS Room 100
Were you unable to make the most recent PTO meeting? You can view the approved agenda and February's minutes. Our next meeting will be April 12, from 6:30pm-8:00pm. Registration will open on March 31st. We will include a discussion of our Field Trip Funding policy. Hope to see you there!

Davanni's Night Fundraiser
Thanks to everyone who came out for the spring Davanni's Night fundraiser last week. Your purchases raised $358.42 for TCGIS! Thanks for making this event so successful!

GAI Announcement

Prep Class: AP German Exam
Saturdays, April 9, 16, 23, and 30 - 9:30-11:30am
$165 GAI members, $180 non-members 
Back by popular demand, the GAI is pleased to offer a preparatory course for high school students planning to take the Advanced Placement German Language and Culture exam this spring. Offered on the four Saturdays leading up to the exam (which is Friday, May 6), these classes will focus on the multi-modalities of the test, with about an hour of homework to be completed outside of class each week. This course is designed for students who have advanced German language skills and are specifically preparing for the AP exam. Instruction will be in German. Click here to register and learn more.
 
Easter Egg Hunt: Fundraiser for Kinderstube
Saturday, March 26, 11:30am - $10 per child; Ages 7 and under
11:30am start for ages 0-3yrs - 11:45am start for ages 4-7yrs
Join us the day before Easter for an Egg Hunt on Summit Avenue. Dress for outdoor fun on the GAI grounds (rain or shine!) to support Kinderstube - the GAI's German Immersion Preschool. Some plastic eggs will contain candy and some will contain tokens, with which children may purchase fun items from our special Osterladen (Easter store).
