Welcome New Leadership at TCGIS

Dear Community,

Only 32 days to the start of school! The office staff is getting very excited to welcome all families back! We look forward to a fantastic year ahead!

New Leadership!
TCGIS welcomes Michelle Wallace as the Dean of Students for the coming school year. This is Frau Wallace's ninth year with TCGIS and she brings a wealth of qualities in academics, Responsive Classrooms and leadership support. Frau Wallace will support all aspects of student life and assessment coordination.

Carol Mecklenburg is stepping up as Special Education Coordinator to lead the special services at TCGIS. Like Frau Wallace, Dr. Mecklenburg has provided excellent service to TCGIS for many years and has her Ph.D. in Educational Psychology with an elementary education licensure.

Mike Mullins is joining TCGIS as the Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment Director. Herr Mullins is fluent in German and English, and has taught in both the K-12 setting as well as at the University of Minnesota, Duluth where he spearheaded the Cultural Entrepreneurship Program. We look forward to his leadership in curriculum development for scope and sequencing as we mature as a highest quality German immersion school.

We look forward to introducing you to other new staff members in the coming weeks as we prepare for our best year yet!

Bus Transportation Announcement for the 2015-2016 School Year

School bus transportation is being provided starting the 2015-2016 school year. A huge thank you is in order to Rob Hennelly, the Transportation Committee, as well as the families that participated in the transportation survey that helped guide our work.

It is our goal to provide students and families with an efficient, safe, and timely transportation experience. As this is our first run at busing, it is our aim to create routes that will provide "drop stops" that are within a relatively short distance of the perimeter of our service area. As many of our bus stops are considered "drop stops", parents will need to drive to and drop off or pick up their children at the designated "drop stop" locations.

Once we have received your bus stop registrations, the route will be finalized with JME Transit and our transportation partner school, Great River. Look for detailed bus stop maps in a mid-August Elternbrief.

All students who will be riding the bus in the 2015-2016 school year will need to have the online bus stop registration form filled out by a parent/guardianPlease fill out one from per student by next Tuesday, August 4, 2015. The information you provide will help plan the final bus route for the upcoming school year.

Thank you for taking a minute to complete this very brief bus stop registration. If you have questions, please contact Michelle Wallace at [email protected] or call the front desk at 651-492-7106.
